![]() I want to see my macbook screen on an HDTV 15 feet away without using HDTV cables or adapters.
Apple TV does not do this.. new airplay with iOS 5 and iPad will do this.. but thats not what I'm trying to do. I want to watch movies (avi) that I have on my macbook as well as work/surf sites.. without this pos adapter cable. No one seems to sell anything for a wireless transmission like this. Should be something like an apple tv or roku product out there I log into via wi-fi and stream my screen to.. whatevers on my screen. Anyone? Bueller?

sure makes a 20 foot cable look cheap doesn't it?
$800 for that.. Quite the open market for wireless HDMI streaming. Reminds me of the commercial where the guy goes into a daydream, then pops out and says, No! Put wi-fi in the TV! Hoping to find something else out there more affordable just released... I did find these however.. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...ronics&x=0&y=0 still looking...

i looked around myself and couldnt find something that was worth the money, plus audio has to come from the digital (use a mini optical cable) port. Rather, I spent about $50 on Amazon and got a 50 foot cable for HDMI and optic. installed a wall mount and ran the wires in the wall down to my AV system, then bought a 10 foot optic and HDMI cable and connect it to the wall.

unfortunately the latest iogear and warpia 1080p products are not mac compatible..
someones gotta have something like this for mac in the $100 to $250 price range.. sucks because one day it will just be a built-in wi-fi click away.. b/w will be penny-cheap and most data will be pulled from the clouds.

So you're basically looking for a "wireless monitor" setup.
Sadly, there's not much out there for that yet.
