Steve Jobs was a PsyHead [he ate LSD and was proud of it]

Most of the great minds are somehow connected with LSD.

Here's the article

And Here's the letter from Albert Hofmann to Steve Jobs.

Enjoy

My brothers friend was on lsd through out high school and into his early twenties.. now he's on disability for it and receives a nice check from the government every month and sits at home all day playing WOW and eating pizza pockets... Quite an amazing mind and way of life for sure...

This guy wouldn't have gone far if he avoided it regardless I'm sure, but I'm willing to bet this is the average and consistent story you will here about people who waste their lives away with idiotic mind altering narcotics...(yes, i think the ones that doctors prescribe are just as harmful.)

like everything else in the world, LSD is fine in moderation... its the ones that abuse it that lose their cookies. it can be very beneficial to the way you view the world if done in the right environment and around the right people

There is no causal link.

An idiot who takes LSD is a high idiot.
A genius who takes LSD is a high genius.

You have a much better chance of turning a genius into an idiot than you have of turning an idiot into a genius with any recreational drug.

Albert Hofmann haven't spent 70% of his life on acid. I've read everything that can be read by A. H. and Timothy Leary. I would rather say: he made a HUGE influence on the entire humanity by 'turning on' a LOT of famous writers and artists via LSD.

LSD is not OK for everyone. If you are unable to face Yourself you can get confused/damaged. Very very few stories like that. This is Absolutely not the fault of the acid but the person who consumes it. This is NOT a chemical for recreation At All. We, who ate it all think its obvious.

LSD will always have its 'market'. I haven't had a serious trip since ~5 years ago when my first kid was born. But on the last day of summer I had a very serious trip, spent most of my day on my bicycle, riding in the sunshine, listening to goa/psy/ambient music. My love for LSD will never fade . My first domain is a psy/lsd/environmental-protection themed blog... www.infected.hu

I tried it a few times when I was a teen and love it so much that I had to stop myself from being around it. Definitely changes your view on the world, especially after the first time. But not so good for a person with an addictive personality that they can't control.

Hijacking my own thread --> did you know that Larry 'Jockey Ewing' Hagman is a serious PsyHead too? There's an article in a Playboy from 1980 where he is discussing this ;)

Coming up in the 70s, LSD was one of those things you had to do at least once.

Why once? You never fully come down!

a neighbor of mine rents a room to a guy on SSI for the same reason. this dude goes fishin all day and rides his bike, that's it. he informed me that the tenant is moving to a one bedroom HUD condo at the beach as he qualified for the benefits and will be paying only $200/month for that place. pretty genius for an idiot (the guy is seriously wack but fun to spend 5 minutes around).

Nice find.

Making psychedelics illegal and pushing them into the black market guarantees that they will be used by immature people - that's the nature of the black market, it promotes abuse and ignorant casual use by kids.

Psychedelics are dangerous, absolutely, because they are powerful, and the ordinary immature human mind is weakly constructed and fragile - especially in our society, which produces weak minds by the industrial boatload.

If you are afraid of them, don't take them, because they will amplify your fear. Whatever you are, they will amplify, for a short period. If you are dumb they will amplify your dumbness, if smart, they will amplify your intelligence - then the chemical is gone from your bloodstream, and you return to your baseline.

You may remember some of what you saw, but that memory will fade. You can learn to remember more of it, but most people won't want to do so.

There's a large body of commentary that suggests that psychedelics do make smart people smarter - or at least that they feel themselves to be smarter - and a lot of creatives mention psychedelics as important parts of their journey. Kari Mullis, for example, someone I've been reading about lately.

Do they actually have the potential to make people smarter, or more creative? Nobody has measured it, as far as I know. Eventually someone will.

You can't counteract fear or frightened people - there's little point in trying. They are right in that their kind really should avoid such things. And it's important to counteract the effect of the black market - and to spread the awareness that if you are going to use psychedelics, to do so carefully.

one failure of the psychedelic movement was the elevation of the mind over heart. they both have their role. hopefully the next psychedelic revolution in the next couple years is run by females.

Well, I figure, warn people not to do it. Those that chose to do it anyway will typically not be the frightened ones, so they will tend to be okay.

It is powerful, so warnings are called for. Especially in a place like this, with lots of fairly immature people. It's possible to hurt yourself with it, as with any powerful tool.

So, it's aldous for the immature and uptight, tim for the experienced and the curious...

I thought Tim was very clever, loved his books, and hope to see his ideas readdressed sometime in my lifetime.

I'm curious about these tales pf people who "took so much they went crazy" and are on disability. I've known a lot of people in my time who have taken psychedelics, some in heroic doses, but I don;t know anyone, nor have I heard from anyone I know of anyone, that got so tripped out they are now on permanent disability.

But here we got at least two claims of such a thing.

You would think this was big news and the major anti-drug warriors would be holding up such people as morality tales, but I don't recall seeing anything like that.

So, is it urban folklore?

I did a lot of blotter acid, mostly while playing in my bands. Loved it.
Great high and it was only $3 for a hit of acid. That's an all night high.

Read up about Dr. Timothy Leary. Very interesting.
