What do you use to convert videos into flash? Any freeware out there that will do it?

Unix server.

All you need is unix box and this !

Screw programs. They crash, lockup stuff. This is all you need

for i in *.wmv; do ffmpeg -i "$i" -f flv -ar 22050 -ab 56 -r 25 -b 650k -s 320x240 `basename $i .wmv`.flv; done

imtoo video encoder [it has annoyances but does the job]
adobe media encoder
but no matter which one we use, we always run 'yamdi' on the flv files to inject/fix the metadata.

It's an old, shitty format with severe compatibility issues. Everyone should be doing h.264/aac in .mp4.

It boggles the mind. I look at it this way: if my competition doesn't want to adapt then that's great for me. If I were really as smart as I think I am I would have just given a recommendation for a shitty GUI .flv encoder and said "I love flv."
