I know nothing about a lot of things.

Programming.
What people thin is "marketing" in online porn.
Why people think not selling to 999 in 1,000 is good.
Why you think I'm a broke loser.

When it comes to porn, selling it, producing it and knowing what the consumer wants. 34 year in the business and approaching 35. Proves all that.

What do you know and who are you?

Why bother. I'm retired from real work, everything but the 4 sites and the blogs are closed. Even doing reviews with no attempt to really make money. Just keeping me from going senile watching the TV all day, it's cold here and I'm not going out unless I have to. Spend an hour or so online, then get back to other hobbies.

just taking the last of the money left and then it all get's shut down. Been "retired" over 3 years now. And still taking in money. not going to walk away from free money.

People like Dirty F, PJ, Damian, Candyflip, and a few others. Rarely contribute anything except pulp. They don't worry me.

No Eyeball. they should feel inferior to me. I lived a life most of them dream of, made enough money to see me through my Autumn and Winter years, got a wife younger than my daughter and a daughter younger than my grand daughter. Live in a small house we own, in a country where living costs are low and a dog who keeps me occupied.

Even my health isn't too bad. Not to good either, but I should be dead according to my doctors.

If you think it's worth it, buy the content, do a new design and pt up your own site.

that would depend on the type of traffic and your sales methods, if you had even a very basic understanding of traffic you would understand this.

yes as you can see he is a master at shooting porn

http://xhamster.com/movies/265560/pa...threesome.html

the reason porn sales are down because people don't pay enough money for porn of this high quality.

selling it, are you speaking of selling your own content, or actually promoting other programs, because the way you speak, on ratios, and so on, you have either little or no traffic to speak of, so I dont know why you are giving advice, saying tube traffic sucks, etc.

never have showed stats to show, but if its just your own content, then I can see where you are coming from.

You may know what the average magazine buyer wants. As far as the internet goes it's all guesses and not much experience to back it up. Right or wrong?

If you had a very basic understanding of selling and marketing. Your post would single you out as a fool. And you're not. It's the "industry thinking" that's wrong.

1,000 people interested in looking at porn, following a link of any sort. That's 1,000 interested people. And 999 not buying.

Maybe you're talking about the 1,000 who click on a link after looking at the samples. So how many consumers does it take to get a click?

What this industry has done is call a failure a success, and that's

Even 100 consumers and 1 buyer. it's 99% loss rate.

I accept a lot of surfers can't buy. but not 99%. And definitely 99.9%. I would guess a Tube site doesn't convert that well, with actual visitors, not those bothered to click on a banner. The fact that the industry ignores a whole sector of consumers shows the failure.

I wonder how many views the average eBay listing gets compared to how many buy the product. There must be some gigantic warehouse somewhere giving everything away for free.

It's one purely of perception. You think converting 1-100 of consumers, not clicks on a banner, is marvelous. I see it as losing 99%. When you consider most Tubes don't convert 1-1,000 of consumers, then you have to think it's not very good. Unless you think losing 99.9% of interested people is good.

I use to sell Office furniture, if I knocked on 10 doors I reckoned to pick up one as a customer. If a person walked into our showroom, off the street, I convert 2-3. If an invited person to the showroom, I would convert at an higher rate.

Before that I worked on my market stall around London. If a person came to the stall and started looking at the good, clothing, I converted 50%.

I was a salesman.

If you think selling is giving free samples to 1,000s for 1 to buy. Again we have a problem with the word selling. If you think it's called marketing, we don't have a problem. you do. Because it's not.

It's slinging mud at a wall in the hope some will stick.

Or laying out 1,000s of free samples and waiting for someone to find something they like enough to buy. When the free samples are a substitute for buying the product, then you left selling and marketing a long way back.

What these clowns can't get past, is we produced so much content. With online stores being our second market and sites our third. Of course few of these clowns have even that. If they didn't get free content they would of been long gone.

Surfers would still be here. They're not going anywhere.

Yes I'm at a complete loss at trying to find a post where you said anything worth reading.

Do the online stores make decent money, am I missing out on a market here?

You sure seem happy about the 99 people who didn't buy anything.

But it's early days and we are just getting going and no affiliates yet.

That was 2005 and you were happy with those conversions, now in 2011 when conversions have tanked those numbers are suddenly for clueless people?

When the free samples are a substitute for buying the product, then you left selling and marketing a long way back.
but the fact you dont have any tube traffic, so you are just spewing BS.

its like someone giving you legal advice who isnt a laywer, but thinks he "knows" the law.

you may think you know, but until you actually have attempted to do it, you cant speak on the subject.

other than estimating, which is what you are doing.

They made a lot more off the stores than any of the custom shooters were getting. Add that to the magazine sales and the sites, it was nice.

Not as much as the elite sponsors or webmasters, just more than any of these idiots flaming me.
