2012 Mitt Romney = 2004 John Kerry
A lot of people want Obama out but if Mitt Romney (or any of the Republican frontrunners for that matter) is the other choice, Obama's going to win, just like Dubya did against Kerry in 2004. They seriously couldn't come together and figure out any better choices out of the entire party? Or perhaps give Ron Paul a LITTLE more backing since he's someone who could probably beat Obama?
I don't think Obama's been as bad as some people make him out to be, but he really shouldn't be winning this election and he will. I find it more amusing than anything else - they're blowing a pretty big opportunity.

it doesn't matter what Ron Paul can or can't do, if he doesn't support Israel financially, morally and with American lives then he can't be president.

Oddly, I think the new campaign finance laws actually hurt the Republicans. It turned the whole nomination process into a circus, with people being able to stay in way longer, and bringing in people who had no intention of actually winning just because they wanted to self promote.
I think after the election, you'll see both parties supporting a repeal of these new super pacs. They make it impossible to control the party, which is sort of ironic since people thought that all this money would give one person or party too much control of the election process, but the opposite has happened. For example, look at Newt Gingrich. Under normal election finance laws, he would be broke and have to end his campaign. But because he found one crazy billionaire to donate $5 million dollars, he's still in it and able to beat up Romney just for the hell of it.

This may actually be a really close analogy. There was a lot of anti-Bush sentiment in 2004, but Kerry was not able to mobilize his base and he failed to get the moderate independents excited. Romney could see the same problems.
