Europeans! Paxum + Ryanair?

So Ryanair is (in)famous for their huge credit card administrative charges, something like 10-12$ (local currency equals) per sector per passenger or so. But it is able to be missed if you use a prepaid mastercard.

I wonder, is Paxum accepted by Ryanair for avoiding credit card handling charge? Did anyone of you tried it?

Anyone from Paxum might be able to answer this? =D

In the meantime here are the info about this from Ryanair.com:

Admin Fee - Per passenger/per new one way flight - relates to costs associated with Ryanair's booking system. No fee applies to payments by:
1. Ryanair Cash Passport holders
2. MasterCard Prepaid cardholdrs in all markets (except when booking flights originating from the UK and Italy)

£6 ?6

P.s.: Please notice their typo on their website at cardholders

I've read it somewhere that initially it was like this, but the EU really jumped on that one so they needed to allow to every prepaid MC to be free. The question is that what is considered to be such. I tried with ecocard, no luck... But it is a virtual card anyways, maybe plastic works I can't try it myself as I don't have money on my Paxum currently.

I'm that kind of guy at the moment who only travels when the price is low, on a leasure base. The current 999 HUF (~4 EUR) per sector per person price is cool, but if I need to pay addition 10 EUR or so for nothing, I'll think twice

You are absolutely positive that Ryanair accepts without fees, right?

All I can confirm to you is that the Paxum Mastercard is classified as a Mastercard Prepaid Card. By logic, one would assume that it would come under the clause you quoted, but I cannot speak for other companies policies and whatever restrictions or limitations they may have in place. Your best bet would be to check with Ryanair directly.

I will point out though, many airline/travel companies not using USD as a base currency are known to take a larger initial hold for flight purchases. They do this to accommodate for any fluctuations in the exchange rate before the charge is actually processed/settled. So please keep that in mind when making your reservations.

Thx!
Well Ryanair is not an ordinary airline you know... I've bought tickets from them when they priviledged Visa Electron with fee less transactions and they charged whatever it is need to be charged . They are selling air tickets like bread or milk in a store - their profits are not coming from that (more like extra services such as baggage handlig for 150 EUR (!) or onboard sandwich for 10 EUR).

They also give you a shit exchange rate if you're paying in £s or $s so they make money from you that way too. Their flight turn round times are crazy, passengers get off a flight and new passengers get on within about a 20 minute period.

To answer the OPs question, with Ryanair you can only use their prepaid mastercard. You won't have that problem with other budget airlines and you can use your paxum card, also note that with Ryanairs prepaid card they issue charges if you don't use it regularly

Just tried with Paxum as I had some money on it:

"Payment Error
Your card payment could not be processed due to one of the below reasons. Please review the below issues and go back to the previous (Payment) page and resubmit:
You have mistyped the card number or some of the digits are missing go to the previous (Payment) page and resubmit.
The card type selected (e.g. Mastercard, Visa, Visa Electron) is invalid for the card number provided go to the previous (Payment) page and reselect.
You have incorrectly entered the card number into the cardholder name box or vice versa go to the previous (Payment) page and re-enter.
The billing address is incorrect- go to the previous (Payment) page and re-enter, ensuring the billing address matches the address on your card statement.
Click this button to return to the Payment page."

Moneybookers advertise himself as a Ryanair - fee - eliminator over here, but they are asking me a bank statement in order to issue me a card. When I told them, that my bank does not issue a statement, but can provide a secure PDF - as my bank is paperless. They replied, no problem, just print that out, go to the bank and ask them to stamp it as seal of aprooval. Yeah, whatever...
