Phew! Looks like it's coming back finally. Fucked up thing is that none of the broker or tgp traffic went to this actual site or even had anything to do with the site, it was all sent to little landing pages made in some folder. Only thing they had in common was that the analytics code is on both. Guess I need to buy a dummy domain to host landing pages on..

So nothing was touched on the main site the entire time, and the fact that the SE traffic to it was disrupted right around the same period I started playing with the shitty bought traffic is just a coincidence? Ok, could go either way I guess, but I think this makes sense somehow. I do agree Google is one mysterious motherfucker though..

Yeah no doubt. The only thing about it that is news to me is that I was just creating landing pages/files in some folder that had no connection or links or anything to do with the main site and Google for some reason decided to bunch it together with the sites overall stats just because it's on the same domain.

Overall bounce rate for the "domain" in analytics yes. I'm not sure how to explain clearly that the pages the shitty traffic went to had absolutely no connection to the main site which receives SE traffic, besides being on the same domain. My best guess is that Google looks at the overall bounce/time on site/etc for the domain and adjust SE traffic accordingly, OR all of it is just a coincidence which I doubt.

The main site has thousands of pages and has been alive for years and getting steady SE traffic. The pages that were sent shitty bought traffic were simply small landing pages I made temporarily to send traffic to, they could have been put on any domain it didn't really matter.

As far as I understadn "time on site" is more "time on domain", so having shitty landing pages bombarded with traffic is one sure way of lowering your own overall stats.

I figured Google could tell a site and it's pages apart from some bullshit .html files used for something else. But I guess not. Or maybe it's the fact that I put the same analytics code on them.. lol. Who the hell knows.

I wasted a few hundred bucks last week buying the most premium traffic from some of the most recommended places here.

I was told it was going to be a waste of money but thought the best way to know for sure is to try it. Well damn looks like it was true.
