Was it sensationalized or do you feel it was honest?

I think it was pretty honest. It is about 20 minutes long and basically it is just a bunch of different people talking about why they go to the gathering and why they are Juggalos. Some of them are pretty articulate and others are not. I think he did a pretty good job of representing the different types of people that are there, but most of them come off as being pretty odd.

If you ever listen to the Ron and Fez show on the Opie and Anthony Channel on Sirius/XM they have Sean Dunne on a lot and he is super talented. He actually doesn't like ICP and feels that they are kind of scamming their fans, and as someone that followed the band 15 years or so ago I have to agree.

Ron and Fez had him on a few months back to talk about Oxyana and he brought his dad with him, who is actually a recovering pain pill addict and the inspiration for the new documentary. His dad was just the typical factory worker if I recall correctly that hurt himself, was prescribed pain pills, and got so addicted that he ruined his life and couldn't kick them for years. He even did jail time for doctor shopping and forging prescriptions.

If you like Billy Corben and the Rakontur guys that did the Cocaine Cowboys docs they are also working on a doc about the pain pill mills that are everywhere in South Florida...

The only exposure I have to ICP is from the few times they have been on the Howard Stern show. I think their music is shitty, but somehow they have figured out how to market themselves to a certain group and it works. Is it is a scam? I think to some degree it is. I have a feeling these guys don't live the life they promote.

I am fascinated by any "group" of people of come together like this. For me it is interesting how some people appear to need to be in a group like this in order to justify their beliefs or way of life.

As for Oxycontin, I can see how it could be easy to get addicted to. Not too long ago I got a small cut on my leg that ended up getting infected. Within about a week it went from being something I barely noticed to being a major, scary infection. I spent 4 days in the hospital on IV antibiotics and had to have 2 months of wound care afterwards. It was painful and they gave me Oxy as a pain killer. I was on the lowest dosage they had. I used it pretty sparingly and most days 1 pill solved my problem. I could take that without any odd side effects. If I took 2 or 3 pills when the pain was really bad I was as high as a kite and the sensation was euphoric. I could easily see how a person could quickly get hooked on it.

It looks like some of Sean's other shorts are online. I'll have to check them out.

I just got done watching this. Thanks for posting it. Excellent stuff.

I checked out of the 'traditional news' sheepdom 20 years ago and have seen plenty of other stuff that tells pretty much the same story. You'll never see it from traditional "news" outlets, but the truth is out there. And you don't have to dig too deep to find it.

Thanks again wehateporn

If the movie wasn't close to the truth, no shills would have been paid to debunk it. Best thing is to hear both sides and see which makes more sense, but do keep in mind that Skeptic Project claims to debunk 9/11 They also constantly accuse people of being anti-Semites when nobody was talking about Jews; that's a tactic that's both dirty and desperate.

Many countries have their cures, but you won't hear about it unless you go there.

Watch out for the WHO though, it's actually an extension of the CDC

Anything from Adam Curtis as previously mentioned.

Also The Yes Men and The Yes Men Fix the World were good.

And finally Cesky Sen about 2 guys who make it their business to create and market a fake cardboard supermarket...

The people in the know keep quiet, most live very comfortable lives, if they spoke out they'd quickly be smeared or assassinated. The difference is when you're dying of Cancer, you haven't got as much to lose.

This is totally right on. The ironic thing is that most people on this board would vote for even MORE government control over the flow of money in the world, and increased control of multi-government entities, like the UN and the EU. We will happily hand over control and oversight of all our wealth to governments, (in the name of stopping the "greedy people"), and once that is done, it's all over. When governments control all of the banks, and all banks worldwide must report to all governments, and all transactions are watched, supervised and controlled by governments, then you have no power to do anything, as an individual. (watch the FATCA act, and watch governments all over the world enact the same thing.... and people will applaud while it happens. )

Mind you, I don't agree with ALL of the conspiracy theories in that video, since a lot of them require far too many people to be involved, and someone would talk, and also some of them don't even make logical sense..... BUT the end game being pushed is absolutely a world government that controls all of the money, and all the transactions.

"An American Coup" the final evolution of the Loose Change documentary (which admittedly started off a lot more amateurish) basically put all accusations of bad documentation and references to bed, and is a truly well crafted as well as researched and referenced piece of work:

A great documentary is also "High School" by Frederick Wiseman, and Gimme Shelter by the Maysles brothers...

I liked Secrecy quite a bit; it's pretty clear which way the filmmakers' opinion hews, but they did a good job of including people with a variety of perspectives and giving opposing views fair consideration.

Protocols of Zion is excellent IMO -- and not what you might think based on the title, alone. The director (Mark Levin) sets out to understand the roots of modern antisemitism, and unlike a lot of other reporting I've seen on the topic, he really gives the subjects of his reporting a chance to speak their minds, no matter how ridiculous their opinions might be, or how offensive and hateful they might be toward Jews, or even toward Levin, personally. His emotional discipline and sense of fair play, especially toward those who would never extend him the same courtesy, is downright impressive.

Heavy Metal in Baghdad is great, too. It really underscores how music cuts across cultural and social divisions, and breaks your heart at the same time. Watching these poor guys just trying to life their lives and do what they love while the chaos of war unfolds all around them... that's some seriously humbling shit.

I'm not sure there's really any such thing as a truly unbiased documentary, but I do think it's possible for documentarians to give perspectives other than their own a fair shake, and both Secrecy and Protocols of Zion do that, IMO.

Heavy Metal in Baghdad is a different kind of documentary from the other two. It's not particularly political, doesn't ask the viewer to take a side in terms of what is happening in the war, or anything like that. It's just sort of a 'slice of life' from these heavy metal fans/musicians, who just happen to be living in a war zone while trying to make the music they love -- music that is illegal to play in quite a few of the countries that surround Iraq, making the idea of going on tour in the area sort of tricky. ;-)

Too Fucking Many

I go to the library and the have so many cool ones, I'll need to live about 400 more years just to watch them all.
Guy with the tornado car was cool, since I'm in Kansas. Betting an F-5 won't strike again soon in the same path.

Cool, atleast having 2 sides of a story or different peoples views makes it less biased or skewed I suppose

That Baghdad one sounds interesting and different

The An Inconvenient Truth is that Al Gore is making a lot of money with that carbon credit trading scam.

That doesn't change the message of the documentary.

It should make you question the intentions of the makers.

The intentions of the makers were to present the facts that 1) the planet is heating up at an unprecedented rate due to human activity, and 2) 97-98% of climate scientists believe this (source: http://www.pnas.org/content/early/20...87107.abstract).

That's it in a nutshell. Try watching it with an open mind. If it would help, pretend it's someone other than algore doing the presentation.

Climate change is caused by changes in the Earth's orbit, changes in the tilt angle of the Earth's axis of rotation, volcanoes, solar flares and other solar activity, THC (thermohaline circulation), plate tectonics and other complex processes. Climate change is not caused by humans. It was not started by humans. It was happening long before we started recording temperatures.

Some recent ones I rented on Itunes while traveling:

It looks like its some conspiracy theory bullcrap doc... it's not at all.

If you grew up playing videogames, you'll enjoy this. If you're a programmer yourself and make your own websites, you'll really enjoy it. I've never seen people so passionate about their art form.

Never thought about giving this a shot but it was on Netflix Instawatch (think it still is) and I had watched most of the other docs available... GREAT story. A rags to "riches" story. If you're a self starter, this is a good one.

I've got more if anyone is interested. Docs are the only thing I ever watch.
