We do have to be very careful with Climate Change now that it's being used politically, ever since the United Nations think tank 'The Club of Rome' admitted it was a good way to scam their global taxes in place. That's not to say there can't be some truth in Climate Change, whether natural or man-made, but there's a giant swindle planned and we have to prevent it. Al Gore is a Club of Rome board member, so he's one of the con men we have to watch out for.
Here's what the Club of Rome planned in one of their documents "In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy then, is humanity itself." - Club of Rome Publication, The First Global Revolution And now it's clear that they selected Global Warming (which they now call Climate Change) as their technique for bringing in their taxes. That's what the UN climate change treaties are really about, imagine if they were honest and said "We want a world government so we need taxes for all nations"...nobody would accept this, so that's why we need to be scammed with an outside threat, which is relevant to every nation. We do need to look after the planet, very true, but there have been unlimited amounts of money pumped towards anyone who is willing to 'prove' that the Earth is heating up. If scientists start proving that it's not heating up, or that it's cooling down, they don't get any further funding. The Rockefeller's fund Climate Change, it's an investment to eventually get their global taxes in place to fund the United Nations. So yes, we do need to look after the planet, but we have to keep the United Nations/Bankers/Club of Rome (including Al Gore) well away from this when proposing any solutions/improvements.

Wehateporn - I hear ya and agree with what your saying regarding agendas. Regardless, look at the data & the fact that nearly all climate scientists agree that climate change is man-made this time around.
Also, in terms of those 2% that don't agree...keep in mind that people like the Koch Brothers endow professorships at universities, and make sure that man-made climate change doubters get those gigs. That's not speculation, that's fact. Which brings me to my next recommendation:

There used to be a time that the majority of the experts all agreed that the earth was flat. Given the fact that we have only one earth, it's impossible to do controlled tests of the man made global warming hypotheses and it is thus by definition impossible to empirically prove (or disprove) them. Taking into account the complexity of this planet and everything that happens in, on and around it and taking into account our (still) limited knowledge and understanding of the many forces that are at play (most of them a lot older than life itself on this planet), I'd say it would be very imprudent to jump to conclusions. Especially 'conclusions' spread by those who would benefit financially from the so called solutions to the so called problem they claim to have identified. When I first started going to school, the teacher told us a new ice age was coming. A few years later, another teacher warned us that instead of global cooling we would have global warming and that by the year 2000 cities like New York would be swallowed by the sea. It's now 2012 and New Yorkers still aren't going to work by rubber boat. And I see they've changed the name of the 'problem' again. This time from 'global warming' to 'climate change'. |

You could tell climate change was not really a problem when they suggested a tax as the solution.

Teacher #1 was right in that every time in Earth's history where CO2 levels reached a critical point, an ice age ensued very shortly thereafter. Obviously his timing was off, but Teacher #2 was right as well in that we are already seeing sea levels rise due to the rapid melting of the polar ice caps and other huge ice formations like the Greenland polar ice sheets. Interesting article that ties the two http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2003/ja...onment.science. it's an older article, but still.

This was awesome! Saw it in the theater, and the director was there and he held a Q&A session afterward. Very cool.

The blu-ray version i found online is about an hour longer than the theatrical version. they had to cut it quite a bit to appeal to a wider audience. One guy asked the director about that, and he said something like 'if the longer version was our theatrical release, we never would have had a theatrical release' lol.

What I mean by that is your posts are making it sound like global warming is true but people are making it out to be a myth, yet various sources suggest 75% - 98% of people believe in it. Quote:
Not true at all, and according to wehateporn in previous threads it is a tax conspiracy. So which is it? It absolutely cannot be both....... Unless that is the median health care bullshit which fails when governments and insurance Cos become involved. |

For instance, Koch Industries is the second-largest privately owned company in the US. the Koch brothers personal net worth is a combined $70 Billion. They are huge players in the oil & coal industries (ie massive pollution) and the timber industry (ie cutting down fuckTons of trees). As they wish to continue making shitloads of money, they fund global warming denial professorships, politicians and 'think tanks' so they can continue raping the planet as they like. Likewise, they also fund politicians and think tanks that advocate massive tax cuts for the very rich at the expense of everyone else. So who's left holding the bag for any taxes to pay for stuff? The rest of us. There's all sorts of info out about these guys in particular. They're not at all sly. And they are FAR from the only ones.

Just been going over Zeitgeist 2010 and the addendum(b) one. They are making so many mistakes in their documentaries it is like Swiss cheese with all the holes, it doesn't take long to find sources to the contrary of what they believe or to use some simple logic to disprove their statements. |

The Story of the Weeping Camel is a good one. Long, but worth it.
Control Room if you haven't seen it yet, though it's somewhat dated now. |

Senna is definitely one of the best in the last few years.
If you like "American Movie" you'll love "Overnight" Overnight http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0390336/ Quote:
Other notables off the top of my head: Man on Wire Hoop Dreams When We Were Kings The Thin Blue Line The Times of Harvey Milk Project Nim The Interrupters I'm a huge Documentary fan. I have a ton more that I can't think of right now. I'll also quickly recommend pretty much anything by Louis Theroux for some light viewing.
