This made me smile

I know this is just a chain mail, but it hit home for me...and has a better plan then the whole electable options thus far. When will America wake the fuck up and fix this shit!

WRITTEN BY A 21 YEAR OLD FEMALE Wow, this girl has a great plan! Love the last thing she would do the best.

This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it. It's her future she's worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare big government state that she's being forced to live in! These solutions are just common sense in her opinion.

This was in the Waco Tribune Herald, Waco , TX , Nov 18, 2011

PUT ME IN CHARGE . . .

Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal legations. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.."

Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on Gov't subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov't welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

It is a gross oversimplification of a larger issue, but I can understand the sentiment. It is a little annoying when you are standing line at the store behind a someone who buys steak and shrimp with their food stamp card, but that is a pretty rare situation. I personally only ever remember seeing something like this once or twice my whole life.

It also used to be demeaning and an embarrassment to have employees on food stamps or welfare. It meant you weren't paying your employees enough. I would be ashamed if I had an employee who had to be on welfare. Same for firing Americans and sending the work to China or Mexico. It used to be that doing those things meant you were unpatriotic and a traitor.

Now if you do those things you are a 'patriot'. Especially if you bitch for hours on end about single moms getting $100 a month in benefits to feed their kids. Even better if one of the single moms is your employee.

Close friend sent it, only reason it was read. But it happens just about every day here in Atlanta while I am buying a pack of smokes with the cash I make at "my job"
I am not lacking for anything, but I see people getting denied for the red bull purchase on the goverments dime and I must say...brings a smile to my face. Something is working but could use a little more tweeking.

What year are we referring too? I have 6 full time employees that have to watch what they spend and also be smart with the money they make but they are self reliant and live good lives.
Employee on welfare???? Not sure if this is even possible if the job is legit.

This is why the welfare system HAS failed to aid those that need the assistance, it is welfare, not a way of life. Put in place to help those that needed a helping hand, not an existence.

I do see how they could tighten things up and maybe limit the things you can buy. Like you shouldn't be able to buy Papa Murphy's Pizza, but the reality is for every one person who takes advantage of it and buys frivolous things there are many who are thankful for the basic food they help put on the table.

When I was about 12 years old my mom lost her job. The company she was working for continuously bounced their paychecks. After several incidents she complained to the owner that this was a burden because she never knew if her paycheck would bounce or not so she couldn't pay the bills. He fired her. She was denied unemployment because he lied and told them that he didn't realize it was a hardship on her and she overreacted in an unprofessional way.

She quickly got a new job, but didn't make nearly as much so for about 12 months we were on food stamps. It was tough and it tore me up seeing my mom stress like that. This was back when they would actually mail you the food stamps. She would worry that they might come late or get stolen and then she didn't know what she would do.

After about a year she got a better job and went off of them. We never went back on them because my mom was hellbent to never be put in that situation again.

So when I see someone using food stamps I have compassion, but there have been some instances where I see them buying things that simply should not be allowed.

Bill Clinton actually signed a bill that did some pretty overhauls to welfare. There is still a lot of state control of many programs, but in many states if you want to get section 8 housing assistance you have to have at least a part time job. There are many people out there who work low wage jobs and get housing assistance and food stamps which is considered being on welfare, they just don't get a check.

A friend of mine has a sister who is a waste of a human being. She has a very young daughter and is on welfare. She lives at home with mom and dad and does nothing all day long. She signed up to get Section 8 and was approved. They told her she needed to get a job working at least part time and then they would help her get a place. When she heard she had to work she told them that working was not for her so she turned it down. She still gets money and food stamps, but no housing or daycare help.

I doubt a 21 yr old wrote but more people will read when they say Robin Williams or bill gates or some 21 yr old girl wrote it.
Its easy to say get a job. No skills they went to schools that have been cut to the bone since Reagan in the name of tax breaks. The shittest neighborhoods get the shittest schools. Also the myth they are all living high on $300 a month is nonsense. The biggest gov expensive is the military industrial complex it towers over all of the rest.

No one talks about Walmart , they are billionaires but use a large amount of your tax dollars.

"Walmart’s intentionally low wages force employees to need approximately $420,000 per year, per store, totalling $2.66 BILLION annually in food stamps and other taxpayer assistance…to survive.
Walmart’s intentionally low wages cost the country HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars in payroll tax deductions for Federal, State, and Local taxes.
Walmart’s intentionally low wages cost our communities the ability to hire and retain important public service workers like firefighters, police officers, maintenance workers, and teachers.
Walmart’s intentionally low wages cost our communities with their increased need for those same public services they are underfunding.
Walmart’s intentionally low wages and lack of covered benefits cost taxpayers over $1.02 BILLION a year in healthcare costs.
Walmart’s intentionally low wages cost taxpayers as much as $225 MILLION in free and reduced price lunches for school-age children.
Walmart’s intentionally low wages cost taxpayers over $780 MILLION in tax deductions for low-income families."

That IS the safety net that was put in place so you both could pick up yourselves to get back on your feet so she, and you could hold your heads high! Great story as the way it is supposed to work sorry you had to suffer thru the bullshit of a shitty employer but again, i smiled to know the system CAN work! Man i see this abused every day and it does hit a chord

Multiply this scenario times 500,000 +/- and we will soon learn the problem with the way they have implemented the funds. It can not support the water coming in, the boat will sink with this weight.

Right, it should be a safety net, not a career choice. One of my best friend's wife worked for years in a grocery store. There were a few women that came in regularly who were on welfare and food stamps. Over the years one of these women's oldest daughter grew up and at 17 got knocked up and went on welfare and food stamps. The mother was bragging to my friend's wife about her daughter doing so well. To her welfare is the family business and she was a little upset that one of her kids was a boy and would have a harder time getting by because he can't get welfare as easily.

Big corp is the cancer on what and how this nation was built, but that genie is out of the bottle and never going back.Living and means. I think what this post is referring to is Earned Income Credit which is when the government will subsidise the shortcoming of cost of living verses reality. Minimum wage is just that, the rest is up to the individuals needs and wants.

That is true for all entitlement programs. I consider welfare and social security/disability two different things. Yes, there are people who scam disability, but most of the people on social security or disability are either old and retired or physically unable to work.

The problem is that people are living so much longer now that we are paying out more than is coming in and we are in danger of it running dry by 2033.

There will need to be some pretty big changes made across the board not only in who gets the money, but how the money is brought in, when it is paid out and what is done with it while it sits in trust if these programs are going to continue in the future.

This song has been played until the groves in the record could see the player.
I have no clue how to fix this, only trying to see if anyone else may have a solution.

You take away welfare and you'll notice a big increase in crime. Like it or not, there are many people in this world who are worthless and who refuse to work minimum wage jobs. A "kick in the butt" for many of them won't result in them getting jobs, it'll result in them lashing out in other ways. If one person does it, no big deal. If tens of thousands of people do it, it deteriorates the quality of life all around. You gotta think of these social programs as an investment in maintaining the standard of life we're used to here in the 1st world, and make no mistake about it, we have it pretty damn good compared to many.

It's easy to say that in a chain mail. Hard to implement in real life. People's mindsets have been hardwired for as long as those programs have been alive. Good luck paring them back.
