While I can confirm that Hostgator's support is fantastic, I haven't yet used one of their dedicated servers, only VPS and Shared.

If you are running a big operation go with a company like mojohost or the like. If you are just running blogs and low end site go with hostgator.

The only trouble you'll get with hostgator is if you get a problem late at night and get on their live support chat chances are you'll get someone less experienced. This can get very frustrating.
