The headline says "Campus shooting", and then in the story it says that it happened a couple of blocks away, did not say if the victims were students, and have no idea as to the motive.

I read an article (which I'm sure you will say is bs) anyhow they were talking about tijana, mexico(spl?) Anyhow. The article was about what a bad rap it gets. They go on to say for every 100,000 people 6 are murdered in gun violence. In Toronto its 2 per 100k. However in places like chicago, memphis,detroit, tampa, etc its upwards of 38 per 100k. Why is that?

The question is based on so many twisted stats, and single agenda media coverage, and mindsets that were founded in a culture that had no problem with overly powerful government, and which does not allow for the thought that having weapons only availble to the government is perhaps a bad thing.

Yes twisted stats. You are correct, 13 people were not murdered in a movie theatre by a wacko that was LEGALLY allowed to buy thousands of rounds of ammo and assault guns without a background check. You don't think there is a problem with that??

news flash, all guns bought in a store require background checks. atleast where I live in VA assault rifles require 3 forms of ID, hand guns require 2.. and all purchases go through the state police background checks.

That is correct, I was in Kingston Jamaica for a layover and had to spent the night. The Hotel doorman went to get me what I needed as they did not allow me to take 1 step outside. Same in Mexico city and Caracas.

I'm a former US Marine who fully believes in his 2nd amendment. But I live in the real world - Do you really think your fucking gun is going to protect you if you get robbed? You watch way too much fucking TV.

The cop who was shot and killed today was a fully trained police officer with a firearm and he still got shot dead. Having a firearm doesn't mean you'll be protected, able to get the first shot off, or that you'll even see it coming.

I love the gun nuts who say "Well, if there was someone in the theatre it would have ended different". No, not really. Lots of people would have died. Anyone who thinks the average armed civilian is going go from eating popcorn to taking on an unknown amount of shooters in a dark movie watches WAY too much fucking TV>
