Funny how everyone say too late, lol. Yes, had he sold 5 years ago he'd probably would have gotten 3X, 4X, 5X more than he will today BUT you have to keep in mind that over the 5 years he's been making that monthly income year in and year out. I bet what he sells for today and what he's made in the last 5 years is at least double or triple what the selling price would have been 5 years ago.

Both Jordan Capri and Tawnee really don't get a ton of traffic. Everyone here is talking about how good the rebills are. CC's expire, even say 3 years ago, the sites were probably not doing more than 3-10 joins a day combined

Now look at the content, even if he has a script in place which makes it look like he has "new" sets and videos being added (which im guessing he doesnt, the quality of the content on the site is so poor, I can't imagine anyone rebilling for very long if at all.

The approach for the purchaser is obvious in my opinion. Do it like batman, Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale they all worked as the same guy.

Lightspeed, Tawnee Stone, Jordan Capri could be hard pivoted to be brands more then a company and specific teen girls. Replace the girls, plug them in to the infrastructure and capitalize on the fact that everyone in the biz has heard of LS. Someone could make alot of money on them with hard work, innovation and the right models.

Not easy but there is value there.

I am surprised he is selling too, i thought he was making a killing suing people. if he sells the content how will he be able to sue people ?

wouldn t you have been able to make a lot more money holding on to your sites especially your tube sites? sounds like you didn't follow your own advice.

Agreed. He was very generous to his affiliates and fellow webmasters. Lots of us had a great time on Lightspeed's dime... I know I did. So many sponsored parties, go-cart races, stunt plane rides, etc. Good times for sure.

Thanks Steve and best of luck in your new endeavors.

That is very true, so many shows would have been significantly less interesting if it wasn't for the lightspeed crew.

i used to do paysites 10 years ago with over 100 new signups/day , this biz is totally dead since the streaming porn sites came up.
today, if u spend 1k u.s traffic on a free page with porn ads (exoclick, eroads, etc..) you will make 8-9 times more cash on average comparing to f you spent the same traffic on a paysite content galleries. i've checked it on enough traffic and the rate is going higher as time flows.

Not really. Reality is it's hard as fuck to sell paysite memberships as you said...but buying a grand of traffic and putting up porn ads for dating, cams or whatever won't make you shit either. Too saturated and most surfers are already either signed up or cookied in. I douvt you would make even one sale with porn ads on a free page and a grand worth of brokered traffic (which is useless to begin with).

Yep...I won one of those motorcycles for having the most sales as an affiliate back in 2002. Tawnee Stone was so easy to sell.

He doesn't SUE anyone. He just sends them quasi blackmail letters threatening to sue them, but because he has no evidence, he can't actually SUE anyone.

Actually, although I know that is the way many have tried to go, that is not really an accurate assessment of his approach. His method, while still pretty bombastic, is way more actionable in my opinion.

I am pretty sure his filings at least have been linked in Xbiz though I am too lazy to look. Besides that, I don't think anything else would publish until there was an actual decision but even that could be kept confidential.

Don't know either way on that point, but I do know from what he has said that his approach is not the way the RIAA went etc., and was more focused on theft than infringement, but he would have to give the details. That is just my take-a-way.

You missed the point.

By "too late" it mostly means he won't be able to sell, or sell for anything he deems worthy of selling. I'm one of those people that think it's going to be that way. Did he make more now then what he could have sold then? I dont know.

He did make a great brand, and an impact in industry, but he kind of went nuts in the end, not sure whats that about. Lightspeed dodgeball owned.

Strip Dodgeball is an eight-year long Phoenix Forum tradition that will live on with or without me, just like the late-night suite parties have.

To all my old friends, thanks for the kind words and the good times together.

As for me, I'm working on a new Broadway musical.

His paysites definitely still make more than 99.99% than GFYers make.

I have one site similar to Steve's, two of his were much bigger than mine, then he has a whole bunch of smaller ones. My one site makes $3K a month just sitting there rotating content.

my guess would be $20-25K a month without any expenses other than hosting.

if my one site makes 3K a month what do u think Jordan Capri and Tawnee Stone do? There are big TGP's out there that keep rotating solo teen site galleries from years ago and they do make sales, some of them plenty. Then you have thousands of smaller tgp's and babe blogs with promo for LS sites on them. Plus there are rebills that keep on rebilling from years ago - I have an almost 9 year old NextDoorNikki rebill - i have no idea why the credit card hasn't expired at least once during that time.

At the very least it's 15K a month and i still think it's 20K

my guess would be $20-25K a month without any expenses other than hosting.
i am sorry, but i doubt also. i remember few months ago he still had top affiliates somewhere on lightspeedcash site, and it was like top 10 or top 100, and in one period all together made like 100usd, maybe less much less ... it is really not like people are buying old content again and again ...

if steve was making 1/2 million a year profit doing nothing I doubt he would be looking to sell. i post on gfy and so does steve so we both must be make a lot of money. my guess is 3 - 5 thousand a month and falling fast.

$15k-$20K a month in income is only 1000 members, maybe 1500 members when you consider processing and affiliate payouts. You really think ALL of his sites only have 1000 members? Seriously? In the day he would have hit 10,000's of members if not 100,000.... rebills last a long long long time.

You guys would be shocked how a member base can build up after many years of a site being online. It's actually pretty nutty.

10 rebills a day is ~$7,500 monthly.

Rebills without updates, yes. I have seen stats admins from many "dead" programs and the remaining numbers are retarded. Add a content rotator, maybe a few feeds, you might extend the rebill ratio even more.

I have no idea what his members area is like and I obviously have no idea what his numbers are, but those of you that are discounting long-term rebill numbers are really talking about something you know nothing of.

intresting reading, interesting speculation....my question is where do you all actually get these numbers? You have no acess to his password file, no access to who ever processes his credit cards, your not his accountant. To have any kind of reasonabe guess, you would have to had access to either how much he made at one time or his password file to see how many members he had. So how do you guys come up with these numbers?

I recall reading an interview years ago where Steve mentioned something along the line of doing 5 mill in a good year. You do the math ;)

its hearsay...no one knows anything unless you actually see it.
I am not going to do any math unless I know facts, if you all have learned one thing on GFY, it should be to never believe what you hear.

Over the last 15 years I have been running my site, I have seen ALOT of "successful" sites close up shop, others charged by the FTC and their accounts frozen, others take peoples money and run, not pay affiliates because they dont have the money...

Like I said earlier in this thread, it doesn't matter how much he did or is doing unless you are going to buy it. People like to throw numbers around, it's normal behavior. Some base it on their own numbers, lots just make things up on the fly
