Does Piriod mean Period? Or is there a significance to Piriod that I'm missing?

Our tap water has a little too much chlorine in it for my tastes, so I have a filter for it. I prefer bottle water to the taste of our tap water.

From my military days, you can drink piss as long as it's filtered right and reverse osmosis with added minerals? Delicious.

I thought it is obvious, otherwise why would anyone buy bottled water when he can just get it from the tap.

I used to buy tons of bottled water but now I have a pure water filter on my tap and fill up the 5 gallon bottles... the water tastes better to me personally after it has been run through a filter

the amount of plastic that is wasted is absurd.

Just buy a britta filter if you really think there is a problem with the tap water.

In Barcelona the tap water is aweful and gives me stomach ache. In the UK it is 100% fine.

Because some companies bottle the tap water. The good bottled water is surely better than the tap water.

some bottled water is tap, but filtered hence cleaner than tap water.

tap water tastes like chlorine, bottled doesn't. yes, most of the time its probably just filtered city water but it still tastes better.

i wish there was a good water filter system out there that uses solid carbon block to filter the water. the only one i could find is clear2o but i heard they are not making it anymore once they run out of stock.

It's tap water

Our local utility brags about supplying tap water to

http://premiumwaters.com/

Many local pro/college sports teams buy their water bottles here.

Might be filtered, but I don't taste any difference.

Early advertisements referred to Dasani as "bottled spunk" or featured the tagline "can't live without spunk". These slogans were used seemingly oblivious to the fact that spunk is slang for semen in the UK.[10][11]

I bought and installed an under sink R/O (reverse osmosis) unit in my kitchen -- it uses a separate spigot. It makes 99%+ pure water from my well-water which is run through a sodium-ionization water softener first.

It actually tastes better that most bottled waters and the filters are about $45 a year to maintain. It makes 4L to 5L a day and cost me $225+the installation (part of a kitchen refresh (new water softener, counter tops, sink, faucet, this R/O unit, and a new dishwasher)).

Amazon sells these units -- that's where I got it -- the local plumbing supply wanted $320 for it BTW.

i've read that drinking r/o water is bad for you though. since r/o water has no minerals in it, causes the water to be acidic and supposedly it will suck minerals out of your stomach, bones, etc. or something like that.

And handling toads gives you warts ... All kidding aside;

It is just pure water. It adds nothing to your diet nor would it draw any element out of your body with the exception of salt in the form of urine as any other water would.

My primary concern was reducing any trace iron, manganese, mercury, arsenic and/or other heavy metals that might be present in my ground water. I don't need to ingest that ...

Here in the US, most bottled water comes right from the same water plants your local city gets their water.

That is why people say it's usually the same water. Sometimes it might have an extra filtering system at the bottling plant but in most cases it's the same thing.

It's not like they have a hose stuck in the side of a mountain somewhere getting water directly from the glaciers.

You're talking about distilled or "hungry" water, which is VERY bad for you. As a polar molecule, pure water will indeed leach whatever it can, resulting in the formation of free radicals. I'm not familiar with how effective reverse osmosis systems are, but if it's that effective I would have concerns.

I like the FIJI water. I always buy either FIJI or SMART water. I really can't tell a difference from most of the water being sold, I like that they put it in a fancy looking bottle so I feel I get something better
Really impressive someone can make $100 million / month selling water
