What does google consider a link farm? - GoFuckYourself.com

The more I read about google the more I see the term 'link farm' coming up.

Can someone please break down specifically what google considers a link farm in our business.

Would 10 domains each with only an fpa and a table of links to the other ten be a link farm - a cirlcle of interlinked sites like that?

What about a link list with no content?

Is there some kind of rule or strategy for the number of outgoing links on a page? - is there a difference as to how you layout a page of links - is one style a link farm and another not?

I'm working on a bunch of sites, that are all part of the same network, so they of course, will all link to eachother. Thing is, i'm worried about being blacklisted. I really oughta read up on this some more..

A link farm is a page that has no content, just links or banners to other sites. It is supposed to increase link popularity but considering that it has no content google will not take it in consideration while calculating page rank.

I have read that 100 links per page is the limit - past that it's flagged as a link farm. Don't take this as gospel though; I'm sure if you look around you could find someone proclaiming that 5 links is a link farm, and someone else saying it's not a link farm until its 500 links.

Look at your page with your own eyes. Does it look like a link farm to you? If so, break it up into multiple pages. Hub it... rather than linking to *every* page in your cross-linking network, link to pages that only deal with the same niche and a link to the main entryway/doorway/hub front.

A bunch of link farms on the same domain, all linked together, all different, and all with a bunch of spider food, will boost your page rank.

So how exactly does google define 'content'?

What about tgps that have 100+ links on them - none of them are penalized - they are all pr4-6's?

I assume that by using many different domains - it helps with not looking like a link farm.

So if you had 5 domains each with only an FPA at the root and they linked to the other 4 sites at the bottom via a link table - would that be considered a link farm - or should you not link all 5 to each other and instead link some of them to each other and not have 2 that have the same link table?

So it is not a circle so to speak?

Google changes it's settings every other day. No sense in trying to figure it out in every detail. Just make it all look hand made, content rich etc

Does anyone use cloaker pages?

Not sure how well they get traffic, but from what I've heard they also can get you blacklisted from search engines.
