Same here, after the last big earthquake it was nearly impossible to get cell service for hours after the quake...but the landline still worked.

NE storms and power outages have been getting worse / more common, so most neighbors have a similar rig, too.

The storm is still south of me but getting closer...

Good idea... Hopefully you have gas too, there is a pretty high risk that gas pipes are being shut down / damaged to prevent major fires

Andrew was terrible. I grew up in Miami Lakes and had JUST moved up to ATL a year before Andrew.
Went back down to help, as much as I could, in my old neck of the woods...
