:mad Our poor Air Force!

http://abcnews.go.com/m/story?id=17635726

Propaganda about our aging and decrepit Air Force. The fleet is old, rusted and not able to defend us.

Give me a fucking break!

Clearly the defense contractors want more money.

The billions upon billions wasted during the Bush administration was probably enough for a whole new fleet. So many projects got billions and never materialized.

"China's rise as a world power" "China has a credible air force"

These delusional pro-military whackjobs seriously need to just fuck off.

Reality check:

Remember when this country was not run by and for the military? No, neither can I:

Likewise. I was in the USAF for over 4 years, from Dec88-Feb93, and I can tell you the jokes about 500.00 hammers and 1000.00 jackets are no joke. It's real.

The military and those defense contracts are so inflated it isn't even funny. The wast TONS of money on shit that isn't worth the materials its made from.

While I understand this seems to be a Navy plane, the F35 is for all services. I'm guessing our Air Force is doing okay.

The F22 Raptor is fucking impressive too.

Is anyone outside of the US building planes like this? I read something about China's stealth plane that flew for the first time last week and they said it was twenty years behind the US?

no, a US military guy said the chinese were 20 years behind the US, then the chinese flew a stealth fighter

this F35 doesn't fly in the rain or any place that has particles in the air, due to the skin used for the radar reflection

it also has a habit of killing it's pilots over 25k feet

no biggie tho

You mean for moral support right? We can totally sympathize about an aging fleet of fighters, so we make the ideal shoulder to cry on.

Here's the article I read: http://security.blogs.cnn.com/2012/1...ng-test-flown/

Here's what they said:

Quote:
While these are both fifth-generation fighter jets, that doesn't put them on par with America's two newest fighters.

For example, Pike said China's jet engines just don't come close to American engines. "This is a sucking chest wound of Chinese military aviation."

Pike said the primary Chinese military jet engine is based on an American design. "We started development of this engine back in the '60s. Then they commercialized it in the 1970s. Then the Chinese got a hold of it 20 years ago and it's still no good. It's a half century-old design that they've been working on for two decades, and it's still no good."
Seems pretty bad really.

That's odd. I don't recall ever reading that. I can't seem to find anything about it via Google either. In fact, the only reference I can find is about the radar absorbing material on the B2, and how the F35 is a "completely different animal":

They fixed that a while back - It wasn't the plane itself, but rather the air mask.

you.. can't find the articles of the US military making utter fools of themselves?

how odd.

you.. can't find the articles of how water and sand damage the skin of the new fighter jet, entirely ballooning the operation costs of said jet?

how odd.

you.. seem to think this issue has been fixed?

how odd.
