Some days I just can't Customer Service

Got a heads up from a phone rep at my biller that a customer was demanding a refund and planned to charge back via his bank. I reviewed his account and saw that he had used the hell out of my live cam site and wasted a lot of my girls' time and was now trying to get it all for free. So I refunded him but didn't let him know right away. If he's gonna rip me off I might as well screw with him a little.

Shortly after I received this email:
This company fraudly charge my account about $10 and $49.95 for a service I did not use. How come?? I did not use the service at all . I don't work. I'm broke. When I see $60 fraud charge, it frustrates me. So I really need a refund ASAP. Because that will be my rent money. Thank you


to which I replied:

Hi. I do not see any signs of fraud. What I see is that you signed up to our website, agreed to the terms and conditions, and were charged according to the clearly displayed pricing. I also see that you logged in and entered a chat with one of our models. The 49.95 were charged because you did not request a cancellation within the 24 hour trial period. I do not see how any of this constitutes fraud.

and received:

I did logge in but I did not chart with any model. U can ask ur model if I Eva chatted with her. Wen I signed up I agree to terms and condition of 9.99 it did not show anywhere of cancelation after 24 h. I was not notified that's how it was going to be.

Than let me notified my bank and start a dispute. I did not chat at all. I was not going to signed up in the first place. So she forced me to sign up without telling me any any detail. You have to retrain your models again on your company policy. Because your company look like fraud. Anyway I'm going to dispute with my bank if still I don't get my 50, will take it to court for lawsuit.


So at this point I was pissed, I had already issued a refund and decided to just fuck with him.

OK well, we are not actually interested in broke ass losers anyway so a refund has been processed now stay the fuck off my website, asshole.

You call yourself a businessman and you going to curse a customer? God damn your business anyway. I'm a IT consultant. I will create a negative ad against your company. You calling me broke? You are more broke because of a 50 dollars refund, you are getting mad. Rich business owner don't complain when they giv refund to customer.


You bitch about paying for a website and complain that you are short of rent money. That means you are broke. Also, the second you got a refund you were no longer a customer. Just an asshole jacking off to my site for free. Customers are people who pay. You didn't pay. So fuck you this aint wal mart. You think there is a shortage of broke bitches on the internet trying not to pay for shit? Sue me, asshole.

Also it's hilarious that you call yourself El Patron when you mentioned you didnt work and you were broke and 60 bucks short on rent money. Good luck hiring a lawyer, or getting free advertising for your negative ad campaign.

OK you seem to have trouble reading. I guess this is why you are a successful IT consultant with so much extra cash lying around. I told you I refunded your money so no, you did not pay. I mean you did pay and then instantly commenced to whining like a little bitch and threatened to report your credit card as stolen to your bank, so you got a refund and are now permanently banned from my site and have been added to a database of customers who threaten fraudulent chargeback claims, you will likely be denied service at online websites in the future because of this. I found a picture of a really scary guy, I think you should be careful, he might be dangerous.

He immediately stepped back from the intimidation and started begging:

Been there and done that.

My favorites are the ones that demand a refund, and then once refunded complain that they can't log in.

Fun read, but we have something better that you are free to borrow.

Every once in a while we get some "friendly fraud" guys, who basically spent money chatting with girls on our sites, then charge it back.

We will call the card holder, and very politely, attempt to establish the reason of his chargeback. 99% of the time they will say the card was unauthorized. While talking to him we send him an email and ask him to reply to it, as a log that we are handling the issue for him. In his reply email header is his IP address of course.

We ask him what he think happened, and he will usually tell a long winded story about how maybe his "friend used his card" or "maybe the waiter at that restaurant is the thief". While he talks, we compare his IP address to the purchase logs and especially to the chat logs to make sure they all line up. Then I hit him with this:

"Well sir I am so sorry this happened to you. We will of course refund your credit card (which is actually already done since he charged-back), and we will file a police report in your city".

"Wait. What? Why?" he usually says.

".. Well sir, your card was stolen and used illegally. We will forward the details of the transaction and the IP Address of the user who made the purchase, and all of the chat logs that show each message from that IP address."

At the same time, I look up the owner of the IP Address (Verizon for example), and continue with "We will also forward a copy of the report to Verizon. As this transaction was illegal so was the use of their network".

Usually, the guy will start with "Oh ... um... yeah.... I...."

Then just to drive it home, we'll end it with "Oh, and the police may come to visit you to take a statement. They are so busy it may take a few days, who knows. They will have the report already of course but if you want I can send a copy to you as well and ----"

At this point he either offers to repay the chargeback, saying "I don't want to go through that trouble", or he pisses his pants in fear. One guy actually promised to send a check once, which he did and actually cleared.

The above isn't always successful, but it sure is fun.

That sounds like a great plan. Another thing I hate is people who call in on the phone and they're like:

My kid/brother/roommate used my card without permission.

And I usually say: Well that's terrible, are they going to be arrested?

And they usually say, Of course not! we are handling this internally!

To which I reply, well then why am I involved? Your kid/brother/room mate clearly owes you money, how is this any of my business? Do you need help filing a police report?

Doesn't look very professional on your end. Sorry, but a happy customer whether they are currently paying or leaving is better publicity than an upset customer who gets called a broke asshole by the company he was just paying.

He was ripping me off and the last thing in the world I want is for him to be happy. As I told him, customers PAY. You don't pay, you're not a customer.

Try going into a strip club, getting a lap dance and having a few drinks and then announcing that you weren't happy and won't pay. I don't think the bouncer is going to be worried about making you "happy" or have any concern for the negative publicity that might come from kicking your ass.

I provide a premium luxury service aimed at adults with disposable income. 18 yr old bottom feeders trying to scare up an extra $50 to make rent are not my target demographic and unless I start selling crack they probably never will be.

I understand, but it's good to bring a level of professionalism... Walmart doesn't start calling people who want refunds on their stuff broke when the customer is acting like an asshole do you?

Of course I know that's not the way to handle people, that's why I titled the thread "Some days I just can't "Customer Service"

But I am also aware that Wal-Mart has a refund policy, I have a NO REFUNDS policy.

Wal Mart targets low income people and tries to make them feel good about shopping at Wal Mart. I target middle to high income people and I am not interested in Wal Mart's customer base nor in their business model.

Wal Mart also requires you to return merchandise if you want a refund. You can't return a cam show.
