Designers, do you use a font manager?
Curious if anyone uses something like Suitcase Fusion, Font Agent Pro, Font Expert, etc.

Dafont all the way. I keep a minimum number of fonts on the system.

I mean to go through all your fonts to see which one to use, since I have quite a few.

FontExpert - it's great. I have too many fonts to install them all so when I'm looking for a font I fire up FontExpert and scroll through them all and 'temporarily install' the ones that seem the best candidates for the project.

Like the looks of both software. I also own a sign shop and the font manager provided with the sign software leaves a lot to be desired. especially when working with clients, font selection is just too cumbersome.
Fris or anyone who uses FE now...I'm curious what FE doesn't do feature wise or what shortcoming does it have that has you looking at other font manager software? I'm trying out FE right now. |

Font Expert - because of the temporal install feature. I also use dafont, but the process of finding a font there it's to slow.

AMP Font Viewer
![]() I've used it for years on my windows work boxes! I keep a minimal number of fonts installed into Windows ... when windows needs to reload more than a hundred or so fonts each time it redraws the page, it really does hamper the performance of your system ... Benchmark your system with only 40 fonts installed ... and then run the exact same benchmark with 300 fonts installed, and once more with 1000 fonts installed ... and you will see the performance degradation before your eyes!! |
