Welcome, it also looks like you can use the code multiple times so long as you have a different mailing address and credit card, we just snagged another 6 domains at 50 cent each

You have to clear out your cookies first though...

We're going to transfer these way to GoDaddy in a couple of weeks time, so not really concerned about renewal costs at this time, even with the $6.95 transfer fee to GoDaddy were still saving around $4 per domain

it sucks trying to transfer domains away from them. you have to call them and convince them that you are who you are and why you want to transfer.

That is the email I received from Register.com earlier this year when trying to transfer out a domain even though none of the above things listed had happened. Had to call their support and wait on hold so that I could verify who I was and why I wanted to transfer away from them before I could get the auth code. Also after I registered a domain with them they started calling multiple times a week trying to upsale me other services I didn't need.

its just their way of trying to force you to stay with them. a lot of people try and get authcodes a week or so before the domain expires. well they will wait a week and then email you that you have to call to get them but oh no, the domain has expired so now you have to pay their random of 35 dollars for renewal plus a reactivation fee of 15 dollars.
