I don't think it's affiliates being lazy. I think it has more to do with the devaluation of the product itself. The only laziness there could be with the reluctance to try to sell another product instead of beating a dead horse. Everywhere else but on GFY this is common knowledge. Here you have a lot of reps (some who have a history of working for scamming companies) and sponsors who always jump into threads like this and proclaim that they are doing better than ever and converting at 1:50 and you could too if only you sent them more traffic, you lazy affiliate you.

Those days could be here still for a lot of people if they had that kind of drive and put in that kind of effort again.. but no.. they want 50000 hosted galleries and 10000 free videos or they cant even get started.. lol

I made my first signup off a free host with 10 pictures within a couple days, from then on out it was work work work.. nothing was easy even when it was easy..
You have a point with some things. The hosted galleries and sponsor content made things get saturated for a time. But the situation now is that the sponsor content has nothing to do with it. It's the full scenes. And the people distributing the full scenes for the most part aren't affiliates. They are pirates.

Are those your paysite sales (which is what this thread is about) or do those include your cam and VOD sales? I've observed that Freeones seems to be trying to move away from paysites and more into other products and content distribution methods (such as your VOD deal). I took that as confirmation that you were likely seeing declining paysite affiliate numbers and were looking for a way to make up for lost revenue.

If you work hard it's still possible to make good money and get good ratios. There are plenty of ways to get ratios better than 1:500

Example: (this is from 300x250 banners on a tube for this current period)

Also, there is 10000x times more traffic now than back in the days and it's easier to get traffic than ever. So if you are struggling with bad ratios, you should just work on getting more traffic.

I have said this before in other threads. I rather convert 1:2000 with 1000,000 clicks than 1:250 with 10,000 clicks
Is this product where you are seeing these numbers from a tube a paysite and are you using your traffic numbers or the sponsors? Are you promoting this as an affiliate?

To get those numbers as an affiliate on a straight paysite without pre-selling to the point where your ctr is 1/2 or 1/3 of normal is very good.

what makes an affiliate? Answer someone sitting in front of a computer that says they are an affiliate LOL, I have proven most do not know what they are doing when they bitched about 1:20000 and I offered to do ten times better or I would pay for their traffic. Three people did it and all three did better then 1:2000 and all three quit sending traffic after that. I still see one guy bitching on here lol.
I still send traffic to many programs. I am not doing as well as I use to but far from quitting

Pay site sales and cams yes. The reason we try our own vod is to control part of the revenue stream ourself instead of depending on others. Not much to do with declining sales.

I'm a Program Owner so take what I say here, dear affiliate, in the spirit in which it is intended for it applies to us Sponsers as well:

Everyone, at some point, goes on auto-pilot. It's psychological. Everyone who makes their living by themselves (not getting paid from a JOB) goes through periods where they coast and slow down. You can't keep pumping 24/7/365 forever without burning out.....

BUT - and here's the problem folks - BUT you MUST keep pumping 24/7/365 if you sell shit on the Internet!

It's human nature to find a level of comfort and stay there. "Great, I'm making x # of sales equaling x amount of $. I'm set!" Then you start to "play", or relax more, or enjoy the fruits of your labors...after all, didn't you just spend YEARS of your life in front of a computer monitor, building your online "empire"? Time to enjoy it now that sales are flowing in woohoo!

But the thing with the internet, and especially true of today's traffic, is there IS no "sustainability". Not like in the old days. You get a video on a tube, or a listing on a TGP, and you get traffic like crazy - for a day or two. By day 3 that traffic is down to10% of what it was on day 1 and by day 5 it's like you never had any traffic at all.

So this means - you guessed it! - you gotta keep pumping away every single day 'cause there's no such thing anymore as "steady" traffic.

Sales go up, sales go down, but what should never change is your EFFORT. I think of it this way: If I'm NOT doing something to increase my sales then some other person "out there" on the Internet, who I'm competing against, IS. So get working Mister Peabody!! (See, I try and take my own advice from time to time LOL)

If you want "easy" get a job. If you want "steady" get a job. If you want "freedom" and the ability to control your own destiny then work harder. It's worth it.

Good luck to us all.

I would agree.

I also have declining ratios to programs which are NOT found on tubes.

I also have declining ratios with dating programs. Tubes or free content can't touch dating and yet still there is a decline.

I think the problem is more multifaceted than we think. I don't have the complete answer but I'd say:

TUBES + DEVALUATION + ECONOMY + GETTING USED TO EVERYTHING BEING FREE + PAYSITE MODEL GETTING STALE + ....many more ...

Hey Mr. Peabody I get what you are saying. I've been doing this a long time and I work pretty hard. What I'm more saying is this. Let's say a sponsor is converting at 1:2000 and per join on revshare on average I make about $20 for each sale (sadly this is reality now). That is about $0.01 per click. Now let's say the same sponsor is now 1:9,000. Well now I'm better off sending those clicks to a CPC program where I can get $90 for those 9,000 clicks versus $20 from sending them to the sponsor.

This is what I am saying. That it's not worth it to be a paysite affiliate when conversions and rebills are this bad. I'm not saying that I can't make money. I can. But not as much per click as what I was making in the days where I could convert 1:500 and make an average of $40 per sale on revshare. In this way I think the standard paysite affiliate program is going to become extinct. Once you cross the 1:2000 line on revshare conversions and around 1:3500 for $35 PPS it gets to the point where the affiliate is better off selling the traffic on a CPC or CPM basis. Or maybe they should put up a dating or cam offer instead. Things were fine when paysite sponsors converted well but now that the piracy and other factors have hurt the sites it seems there are better alternatives for most affiliates unless a paysite is converting great.

Bullshit.

If your content kicks ass and isn't given away for free, it'll sell.

People pay for what they want when they have too.

I think there are other factors besides piracy as well but I would put piracy as somewhere around 60% responsible. Dating and cams I think it's partially rampant shaving along with saturation as well as free alternatives like Plenty Of Fish and My Free Cams. When looking at raw ratios I also figure in that there is more non-tier 1 traffic out there. But even with that factored in obviously there have been tremendous declines in the paysite market.

This is true to some extent but the amount of free content available in the niche has an effect on things as well. If you have great content and you keep it off the pirate sites you'll do better. But you would do even better if there were no such content from other producers within the same niche on those other pirate sites.

Only promote this program if you want to receive via checks. They have no other payment method! If you live outside the U.S. is not worth it...

There are similar programs that pay via PAXUM or Payoneer.
