You have to address the problem...not the symptoms.

You guys should be proud that Toronto (and Canada) have a society that doesn't seem to include a lot organized crime and gang activity.

or the Canadians are just smarter about it and don't get caught or counted

tell me what you meant by 'Toronto has only a 8.4% black population' during your argument about why Chicago has far more gang violence than Toronto.

If i am so 'confused' and 'misinterpret' so much, you should be able to wrap it up in less than 2 paragraphs

Okay...I'm pretty sure I wrote it in English up above. I'll try one more time because you are acting like you can't understand a goddamn thing.

Chicago has a very large black population. They have been in poverty in Chicago for over a hundred years or more. they have no real opportunity.

Gangs have been established. These gangs actively recruit the BLACK youth in their neighborhoods (they are BLACK gangs). So many black young men have no education, no opportunity, and they see other young black men walking around with women and money because they are in gangs.

So they join too.

The WHITE kids in Chicago, for the most part...have totally different circumstances.

That's why I said in my post that until the city of Chicago finds a way to attract businesses that can bring in high paying jobs that will offer opportunity and incentive for young black males to go to school and get a job...the violence will continue.

One thing is for sure...YOU don't seem to be able to understand what it is I'm saying. I'm really wondering what the fuck is wrong with you.

I'll put it to you like this: Young black people in Chicago are born in a culture that tends to lead them to violence and gangs.
Obviously Toronto neither has a large population of POOR black people or decades of a culture that encourages them to join gangs.

Did that get through to you? Or do you still not understand? If you still can't figure it out...why don't you visit Chicago and walk your lilly white ass down Martin Luther King Avenue and see what happens to you.

The only reason that Toronto's gun murder rate is so low is because everyone here is a lousy shot. Every day I read or hear about a new incident of shots being fired or someone being wounded.

If those bullets actually found there mark the murder rate would be at least triple what it is. Toronto a safe city? Not since before Emmanual Jaques. Even then it was an illusion.

I honestly think our govt. sets it up for black folks to fail (not all, but the majority).

I remember watching Jessie Jackson back when he ran for President. And I'm telling you I was in shock at his intellect. Up until that point I had only seen him giving speeches and ranting.

But seeing him being interviewed and listening to what he had to say...he made me stop and think.

I remember he was talking about how local govt. set up young black people to kill each other.
He spoke about how in every black neighborhood there was a liquor store and a pawn shop on the corner. The perfect combination for violence.

He said that you just didn't see that in white neighborhoods.

And he was right.

I've seen it in my travels (as I'm sure most of you have too...except for fucking Richard)...most cities and towns are okay, but in a few of the major cities with large black populations (and now some Latino populations as well) it seems like the local govt. deliberately has the young men killing each other.

Maybe a way to keep them under "control"?

I wouldn't put anything past any politician.

i've seen it too in most american cities I've visited.

in winnipeg, the natives are treated much as the blacks are in most major cities. different ethnic group, same result
