GSP vs Nick Diaz
Am I the only one or is this match just a mis-matched fight built solely around media hype?
Thank goodness the undercard on this fight makes buying the ppv worth the money.

Diaz's wrestling is lacking... and he's not submitting GSP. That makes Diaz a 4-1 dog.
As far as media hype... I've followed GSP's career since his UCC days and he's never been that pissed off, ever. Diaz is clearly in his head.

I think GSP is gonna win this but Diaz fights with a lot of heart so you never know, part of the beauty in MMA

Agreed. Nick Diaz is truly in the head of GSP and not only is he stealing his lime light, but he's getting the better of him in these interviews, which is hard to believe, because Nick Diaz and Mike Tyson share the same IQ. On paper GSP wins this fight 10/10 times. However, due to the nature of the beast that is MMA, Nick could possibly wear him down and finish it in the 4th.

It seems that Diaz is way deep into GSP's mind. That can easily throw him off his game.

you guys are all saying the same thing. ;)
Every fighter does his best to play the heal against gsp to work some kind of 'mind game' and every fighter ends up forgotten after they fight. Ken is right, this is just over hyped bullshit and an act of desperation in a dying sport...

In his head? He is impossible to listen too. Of course it is frustrating to have to listen to a retard talk for 30 minutes.
GSP should not lose this fight 99% of the time. And nope it is not worth buying to see if this is 1 in a hundred. |

The hype about GSP hating Diaz is not just hype.

What sucks is with all this hype it'll end up being the typical safe GSP yawnfest. Diaz was pretty damn boring his last fight too.

Boxing is a global sport and MMA is stagnant. Unified rules, scoring and the cage sucks for MMA.
Nick Diaz wins under non faggot Unified rules and scoring. Haven't watched Zuffa for a year, Diaz budo spirit brought me back tonight. Ok I lied I watched the last event in Japan because of JMMA guys. Gomi getting robbed is why Unified scoring and bullshit judging kills the sport. I think Nick has a better chance of winning tonight then most would suggest. GSP is much stronger and has good sub D, but anything can happen in a fight and Diaz is a perfect variable. |

diaz was definitely sluggish on the feet and showing ring rust after that long layoff. it was really disappointing watching him taunt more than punch. he needs to get his head out of his ass. his jiu-jitsu was on point as usual though.
gsp even got gassed in this fight and everyone was saying that couldn't happen. gsp admitted it after the fight that he was gassed half way through the 3rd. because nick has an usual jiu-jitsu game and kept rolling and doing things gsp wasn't used to. also who have you seen stuff half of gsp's takedowns? nobody. nick had his chances he got more than half the fight on the feet. gsp was just the better man at the end of the day. |

I used to be way more into MMA. A lot of the fight cards now are very whatever. The championship fights are somewhat boring.
I will tune in to watch Silva, Jon Jones (goat), and some others, but for the most part its very whatever. To me, the hay day when Matt Hughes reigned supreme was the pinnacle of talent. The heavy weights are still pretty decent. I guess I feel like there was a time, each fighter had a lot of their own unique style, and that's sort of blanding out, while phsyical athleticism + wrestling is taking over. They could definitely use an infusion of good new talent. I used to tune into every fight card, now I tune in maybe 3-4x a year. |

Condit or Hendricks would have beat GSP last night. Diaz didn't look like he belonged in th top 10 of the weight class.

Did anyone see the post fight interviews where Diaz admitted that he has never paid taxes? I get the feeling the wasn't joking either. Nothing gets the IRS's attention like announcing to the media you have never paid taxes especially when you have made a lot of money.
