Is the chiropractic practice really about cracking certain joints of your body?

How effective is it really to have consultations with a chiropractor?

About as effective as a Voodoo Witch Doctor... (I think the education time period is about the same)

I used to go a few months ago, but the cost was crazy high.

I'll probably end up going back at some point, but i'll make do with the way my back is for now...

If you go to one and he/she tries to upsell you or convince you that you need to come in once a month for the rest of your life then walk out the door. If you go in there and they relieve some pressure tell you it may take another session or two and give you some exercises/stretches to help remedy the heart of the problem? That is the one to keep for future reference. It's like finding a good mechanic, not much different.

Agreed, and it is not about "cracking joints". That went out a long time ago.

See, when i first went that's what i thought i was going for. A quick assessment, and then maybe a few sessions at most to try get me back in shape. Well, to relieve the pain anyway.

But as soon as i went, he had a whole fucking schedule mapped out for me. 6 months to begin with, at 2 or 3 sessions per week.

I went about 5 times all in and then when i felt my back wasn't giving me half as much problems, left it at that.

I've since had them on the phone asking why the hell i haven't been back to complete my course...

My one experience with a chiropractor was a scammy quack, I've never tried another. I deal with my back pain through inversion. When I was younger I used gravity boots, now an inversion table (Teether Hangup). Just a few minutes is all it takes for me, YMMV.

I went to a chiropractor for about 1 year, I used to suffer from frequent headaches, almost daily. After 1 month, they practically went away and have stayed away since. I think it's all about going to a legit chiropractor and not 1 that just wants to use up your insurance yearly allowance.

I was born with completely flat feet and have overpronation of the ankles which plays havoc with my alignment. I get extreme "pinching" in a lower and middle vertebra.

The part you stand on slides out and locks in adjustable to your height which makes it balance and you can gently control inverting. You don't have to completely invert to feel the relief but get maximum results doing so. A few minutes is all it takes for me to get days of relief.

I don't know about the other models but the one I got is quite sturdy (and heavy) so I leave it set up, although it will fold up flat enough to slide into a small storage space. Mine has the solid back (like trampoline material) but I can't imagine the ones with the mesh back being any different in the inversion results.

I never have to take anything for back pain these days, let me know if you have any further questions.

That's amazing, just a few minutes for days of relief.

Before I got into adult I was a settlement negotiator for a Beverly Hills law firm. There is no way I would ever let a friend go to a chiropractor without a speech first. And I know there are a bunch of you out there that will claim that you have been going to the same guy for years and he is the only one that can help you.

Take a hint; he has you set to pop whenever he has a boat payment or wedding anniversary coming up. It should never take more than 4-6 months to heal you. They don't want you healed.

You can't pay those guys enough IMHO. I had an achilles problem. Doctor gave me painkillers and prescribed rest for 3 months. I did that, and then again for another 3 months. So I tried a chairopractor. They told me WHAT the problem was, WHY it was happening, how long it would take to fix, and how much it would cost. 6 sessions later, at about £30UKP per session, I was fixed.

I dont mind with general doctors. THey deal with gastro problems and arthritis all day. If they dont know about every tiny nuance of the body, thats fine. Say `I dont know` and refer me to someone who does. Don't fob me off with the default painkillers and rest!
