Thinking about making a million dollars this year. Hard work, done it 2x before just have to commit

But this time I will not tell anyone.

NEVER TELL ANYONE OF YOUR SUCCESS. EVER.

Don't brag to women, friends or family. Don't even acknowledge shit you've bought, just let them think you went into debt to get it.

This was my downfall 2x before. Once people smell money they want a piece of it or knowledge.

Did you make this amount in the adult industry, elsewhere, a combination of businesses? Just curious, but if you don't feel comfortable sharing that information, I understand.

Good luck

I know what you mean, it's the same with jobs. "Get me a job where you work please!" etc.

I seriously had friends openly asking me for $20k loans. GF's insisting I pay for their moves across the country. She even wanted me to buy her dad a truck.

Then there are those that want to know how you did it and suck up your time with their questions. They want to short cut and piggy back on your hard work. Fuck them. Just don't tell anyone.

Very, very few people know how much money I have. It's none of their business. When I was going through rough financial times years ago, I never begged, I got off my ass and made it work. None of them even asked how I was doing, so fuck 'em, didn't need them then, and don't need them now. The few that outright begged, I simply said "no". When asked why, I simply said "I don't do that."

Doesn't make me very popular with the deadbeats in the family, but fuck them.

If you would ever be interested in exchanging some of your SEO knowledge for my writing services, I would welcome that!

I always try to trade my services for information, or my knowledge for others. Some take me up on it, but most are unwilling to share what they know, which is understandable. I always ask when an opportunity presents itself

I've never worried about helping people or the "Secret" of my success.

You can copy it all you want...doesn't mean you can replicate it.

There are a million kids who can play every lick on guitar that Eddie Van Halen does...doesn't mean they will EVER have his success.

If you are really good at what you do, nobody can "steal" that.

I agree.

A good rule is to constantly ask "whats in it for me" when helping someone. All relationships should be a two way street with an equal exchange of value. That sounds asshole-ish and i'm not saying charity is bad or helping someone that is struggling is bad. But the kinder and more helpful you are, the more that gets abused to the point that your time is burned up completely by people who offer nothing back.

If you seriously were making that kind of dosh.. you would be clever not to make dumb posts like these in the first place.

Dude, the guys is explaining in this thread, that he will not tell anyone about his venture.

And you ask him POILITELLY (like it made a difference) to share some knowledge...

LOL. Can't you read the opening post?... Seriously, that was exactly what he doesn't want to do. Just sayin...

Do you think chatting with others, being a "Good Guy" to get friends, and trying to do networking in this business will help you?.. lol. Don't waste your time, just invest your time in trying to learn things by YOURSELF, don't expect others to help you, or try to get that "Email" with secret magic info that will make you rich. That is not gonna happen...

Again, invest time in learning by your own. All the info is out there. Nobody else will make you money, but yourself.

Just sayin...

This is also very true.

I remember when I wrote that C4S tutorial, there were other studio owners going ape shit over those 'hot tips' being posted. While many tried, few had success. It is because my content was so much better? Nope. It comes down to consistently putting in a full day's work on promotion, traffic, content and the rest.

There was a woman I knew a few years back that was too old to work for me as a model, but she wanted to know how to do a clip store and make some extra money for her family. She bugged me for a number of months wanting me to help her, write out a tutorial and all of the rest that is required (render video, where to source content, traffic, etc.). Finally after a lot of being hassled, I cleared a day to write it all out step by step and sent it to her. A few months go by before I talk to her next, and then I ask her how things are going. She quit after a few days.

There was another guy who I met at the local casino. He was trying to start something on his own, and had many many failed entrepreneur ventures. I felt bad for him, and thought I would help him out by throwing him a few bones. I told him about the hosting business, and some of these niches where he could be making an extra $5-10k in literally 30-90 days if he did this, read this, and just kept his nose clean. He was all excited and said he would look into it, jotted down the url's and seemed to be gungho. I see him a few months later, same as the woman. He basically said it was all too complicated and he gave up.

I guess reading and following a simple road map of buy low, sell high was too much work for him as it is not hard at all. Especially when I told you were you could go and find the clients, and start building up your business from there. In short, I have found very few people are willing to do the work even if you give them the blueprint to A to Z.

I have had success in adult for 15 years doing everything from content production, to being a webmaster with pay sites and clip stores. Over the past 4-5 years I have enjoyed the hosting business trying out different niche markets. This year also going to be huge over in mainstream and should clear the mil in just that alone if things stay at their current pace. So far things look promising.

With all of this said, it still comes down to the fact of the matter. I bust my ass, so 'luck' favors the prepared mind. I do not think I am necessarily more intelligent than everyone else so that is why I continue to land on my feet like a cat, and keep renewing myself with new success and opportunities. But what I DO know is that I work hard day in and out consistently and never give up trying new things trying to stay ahead of the curve.

Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he'll eat for a lifetime.

You need to learn how to survive in life with something more than endless handouts.

This reminds me of something from a long time ago. Back in about 2000, I had a guy contact me from a board and ask if I would give him some pointers on making money with AVS sites. So over the next week through a few chats and emails. I gave him some basics and some information on how to do things. Most people, I have learned, will never follow through once they realize how much work it really is.

This guy, however, did follow through. He signed up with some programs through me so I was even making a few bucks on referrals. Within about two months he was making about $2k a month. For him it was all the money in the world. The only other job he had ever had was a part time job at a fast food place so he felt like he was swimming in cash.

He moved out of his parents house (he was 19), bought a car he couldn't really afford and started spending. About 4-5 months later he tells me that all of his friends want him to show them how to do this and he is telling them all to fuck off. I say to him, "I guess you're glad I didn't say that to you." He didn't really respond to that.

Then, doing exactly the opposite of what I told him to do, he started creating a bunch of email accounts and used them to spam the AVS, Link and TGP sites. He got caught within a month and had everything blacklisted.

Suddenly he came crying to me because his traffic had disappeared and he had no idea what to do. He was screwed. He wanted me to personally contact all these people and vouch for him so they would let him start submitting again. I told him that I had explicitly told him not to do this, but he wouldn't listen. I then said I was taking his own personal point of view here and he can fuck off if he thinks I am going to try to fix his problem.

I never heard from him again.

When I looked back on it, he never even thanked me for helping him in the first place. So, sometimes when you do help people and it works out for them, they can't even be bothered to thank you for your help.

My work? Shit, it's also playtime
When I punch in I roll a sweet then I say rhymes
A drink'll help, I take a step to the bottle then pop the top
Finish up the lyrics, go in and rock the spot
I come out and take another swig
Another brew, another blunt, another cig
Shit! who got the liquor nigga?
Fuck it, I'll drink it even though, you know... it gets me sicka quicka
I'm goin hard, yet, I'm still on the clock
My homie got the weed, my partna got the pills on lock
And, whatever-ya else you want from speed to syrup
But I prefer the herb.
And I drink, so I got to watch how I behave
My beer was frozen - tried to put it in the microwave...
I gotta focus cause tonight we got a show
And you know we gonna be drinkin and smokin some mo'
But ughhh

The first rule of the club is: You do not talk about the Club.

Actually he is anonymous with some nickname - so far he is safe.
Thanks for sharing few good stories here guys, was interesting to read.

I didn't "get lucky".

I worked my ass off. I took a neglected free site from 1996 and turned it into a million dollars a year for the next ten years.

Then I took that knowledge and started a paysite and busted my ass.

And I use the talent that I have to entertain people from years of being in a band and performing for people to do what I do to this very day (text, angles for stills and video, storylines, etc)

When you do something that has your own unique feel to it...nobody can successfully "steal" it from you and "hurt" your business.

That's what I'm trying to say.

You are a broke, drunken fool. Your only call to fame is pimping out your wife.

Log off and stop making an idiot out of yourself.

Off to ignore for you.
I never understand why some people want to come to a business board and act like a complete jackass.

Before I go...let me tell you...My "claim to fame" was one of the biggest TGP's in the world for years before I even met my wife. (her site has only been online since 2007)

And no, I'm not "broke" or "drunk".

I would ask "who are you"...but I don't care. I'm putting you on ignore where your clown ass belongs.

Likewise, I do not understand why people come to web boards and make up stories that apparently never happened.

Just sayin...
so the saying standing on the shoulders of giants is a falsehood in your eyes i take it? nobody is completely self made, no matter how much they try to convince people of it.. Trying to do everything yourself without some guidance or help along the way is a recipe for failure every time.

1. Luck is the residue of design

2. I have read your Clips4Sale tutorials and got great information from them. Speaking for myself, it can be overwhelming in the beginning if you are producing content and then figuring out how to set up a website with payment gateway for adult; blogging and SEO to drive traffic, etc. A lot of work with no initial payoff - but that's generally how life is, you have to invest time and money before you start to reap any benefits.

3. My mantra has always been: "if it was easy, everybody would do it".

I am with robbie, you cant replicate someone steps unless you give some sort of copy paste steps plus that person need to have atleast some knowledge and persistence as well.I spent hours and hours to teach one kid about blogs, seo and everything what i know it to do at that moment, and he wasn't able to do anything concrete and that was pre-tube era.
But still it is good to hide your knowledge, for example my mom thinks just because i am good with computers i should know to fix any tech.Or some other people who abuse you to get for free what usually they should pay a lot of money on professional service.

I had 2 partners in that company. AL4A and another partner...I was the guy who put every link in it, wrote the daily humor, made the deals, etc. (still have Grampland.Com and ShavedGoat.Com)

Also owned Pure Candy Images (content company) and shot every picture for that...we sold that in 2002 to Brad Shaw.

Point is, I busted my butt and used whatever talents I have to the best of my abilities.

Everything we did was right out there in the open for anyone to see.

I mean, think about it...Look at Playboy Magazine.
Hugh Hefner's entire business was right there on display...it was a freakin' magazine!

And yeah, plenty of people TRIED to replicate what he did.

But his unique talent as a photographer in the early days, and his personal sense of direction for the magazine was something that could not be "stolen".

That's why he (and Playboy) are icons. And all the magazines that tried to be just like Playboy have all come and gone and are mostly forgotten.

That was the point I'm making.
If you bring something unique to the table...and it can be as subtle as the angle you use to shoot a picture, or your sense of humor, etc...nobody can steal that.

On the other hand...if what you are doing is just running a script a certain way that anybody else could do in a few minutes...then yeah, you might want to hide that.
