But the Mister Peabody that sits here, today, agrees that Nathan's openness is a good thing overall. But then I think of what Jerry Seinfeld once said (paraphrasing): "If you're still trying to make it once you've made it you've lost." It just feels that way to me sometimes. Nathan does need anyone's approval. So say what you will, feel however you feel, but the fact he chooses to still post here is a cool thing tho sometimes a mystery to me.

With the drastic drop in profits over the past few years companies are more commonly
getting the unpaid guys or retired mopes to shoot their content.
I commend Dan though he is the master of getting scenes for a fraction
of what other producers are paying and that means he cans till make a profit
where others can't.

Wow. I'm shocked to hear sales aren't easy. You would think with all these tubes (read: opportunities) people would be tripping over themselves to buy content so they can put up said content on the tubes and reap massive profits. 1. In the prior company/corporate structure had million of dollars seized by the United States government. It's been alleged by many that many of the same people in upper management at Mansef are still around at Manwin behind the scenes (I'm not a reporter so I can't document all this but I've seen people like Robbie mention it here recently). 2. The CEO was arrested and jailed within the last year for tax related charges and there is still an active investigation ongoing.

3. Probably has well over a hundred (if not thousands) messages from content owners on GFY upset over their content being illegally posted on this company's site.

4. The company you work for actually sued them and one point for copyrights but decided to settle with them. Upper management seemed to hint once that the reason for the settlement had to do with finances and making sure people like you still had a job.

So these aren't industry angels or fine upstanding citizens here. Just because your company settled and probably came to some other type of financial arrangement does not mean the rest of us are likewise happy.

The weather is hot and humid this time of year but the potential for models out here is great! Its too bad companies can't afford to pay much for content anymore when I used to be able to throw money around I was pulling new models every week out here we have more strip clubs than most major cities combined full of hot girls. I may be recruiting girls for solo sites soon though I guess I can still make 50% of what I use to make shooting solo sites which still isn't that bad. I am open to flying out to LA to shoot scenes when the need arises but right now for what clients want to pay its just not worth the risk and to be able to have decent gear its near impossible to keep up with such low profits. Going in house is what most smart companies are doing and letting the cheap guys use their gear.

I made the decision to move back after seeing the majority of my clients diminish as some stopped updating completely or just said that they can't afford to pay what they use to. I had a great run in LA the 5 years I lived there but I glad to be back home where I have family and I can live for 1/3 of the cost.

If Mike South stepped up and did some real reporting other than the typical Luke Ford muckraking hack job he seems comfortable with doing by just capitalizing on rumors and innuendos and insinuations then it would be another story.

For example... what if all the lay-offs at DP were the result of necessary fat trimming and clean up of inefficiencies and wasted expenses? That would not surprise me in the least. All the old school brick and mortar companies are/were guilty of it, including Homegrown.

What if Playboy not Manwin was responsible for the issues with Sirius? Speaking from experience, Playboy, even though they are wonderful in many respects, can be difficult to work with at times just because of their size and scope of what they do and how they want the brand represented.

Just because all Mike's little Manwin hating minions like to turn out in droves to try and beat the drums of revolt at any chance they can doesn't mean they actually have a valid reason for it. In fact, the very nature of a mob is the irrationality of the mentality.

I think if everyone knew both sides to the stories then they would take a very different tact. However, obviously it is easier to point a finger at "tubes" or whatever the excuse of the day is for not being successful than it is to actually figure out how to be successful given the resources and environment to do so.

For example... what if all the lay-offs at DP were the result of necessary fat trimming and clean up of inefficiencies and wasted expenses? That would not surprise me in the least. All the old school brick and mortar companies are/were guilty of it, including Homegrown. What if Playboy not Manwin was responsible for the issues with Sirius? Speaking from experience, Playboy, even though they are wonderful in many respects, can be difficult to work with at times just because of their size and scope of what they do and how they want the brand represented. Just because all Mike's little Manwin hating minions like to turn out in droves to try and beat the drums of revolt at any chance they can doesn't mean they actually have a valid reason for it. In fact, the very nature of a mob is the irrationality of the mentality. I think if everyone knew both sides to the stories then they would take a very different tact.
