Far-l, the problem that companies like Manwin have is that they can not even tell their side of the story if they wanted to, because they actually follow rules and usually have NDAs with everyone signed.

It is however interesting to watch mike try to put things together and what comes out from it. obviously normal when you only hear half the story. But with mike it is just sad that he does not CARE about the other side so he does not even try, since all he cares about is to hurt Manwin. If there actually would be a positive thing or explanation he has to ignore it.

Like he did with his story about the job posting. He still claims on his blog that it was DP, yet he got told by the actual posting company that it was not... Shows how he "reports"...

Especially cast against the news that Manwin was buying up one of the top destinations on the internet and had more employees in one office than ten other adult companies combined.

The Donny Incident might have been your Luke Ford style lucky break to actually have something worth investigating and reporting. It would be nice to see you return to that level of integrity in fact finding that you once exhibited.

BTW Far-L I got to thinking and remembering the times I had with you guys...seriously they were the most fun I have had in Los Angeles....and some great ones in Vegas too....that was back when the biz was fun. My point is I don't care what information you are privy to. It would only matter if you were like a real journalist that didn't rely on anonymous sources and everyone saying anything could be held accountable for their opinions, experiences, perceptions, etc. That is the way real fact finding and real reporting work, at least when I was in school.

Otherwise it is just gossip mongering and witch hunting, unsubstantiated and vindictive, and that is why I am disappointed not by what you are trying to do but by how you are going about trying to do it.

I think you are intelligent enough to raise your standards. If you don't then how are you any different from every other vindictive blogger out there with some score to settle? On that level, it is easy to attract the malcontents that support your grievances and will tell you what you want to hear.

A main issue with your info, it is that even if some may be new and true, you pollute it with cheesy copy and paste from googled company and accountant names of whois registrations, along with naive assumptions, some of which end up to be not just wrong, but quite funny, for people who (for example) know who Vassilli Kasssillii (and few others you put in conspiracy theory) are.

A secondary issue, it is that your info comes only from those few people who decide to contact you and tell you things because of their agenda. This is a part of info, so it is partial by definition. People with different agenda may not contact you (or not even read you at all). I suppose you are not contacting yourself people with information (but different, or no agenda), because just for example, more than once I clearly stated I know people or facts you talked (approximately or wrongly) about - but you never contacted me to ask anything. By logic, you contact no one else who shows to know the facts you talk about, unless he write you first in compliance with your agenda.

I know because - this will come as a shock to most - but BP (Before Peabody) I was an actual, published, made-a-living-as Journalist (just ignore that past sentence and trust me). But I quit that profession around 2002 and got into this crazy game (after a few years of, ahem, 're-organization'). In the good ol' Glory Days of Actual Journalism we had things like fact checkers, legal departments, editors and even public organizations that held us accountable. Today? Well, the internet changed everything and now even the Supreme Court has ruled that a fucking NEWS organziation has no responsibility to tell the truth. In other words, the High Court said it's ok to lie.

(Not saying Mike South is a liar. LOL)

So please show me ANY "journalist" today? Those that play one on TV are more interested in breaking a story first, not in getting it right. And Bloggers, the "new journalists"? Well, some are great, some suck, but whatever they are (freelance editorial writers, I'd say) they sure as heck aren't 'journalists' in the traditional sense. But to expect them to be so is unrealistic in today's world.
