Chris Serino, lead detective in the George Zimmerman case in his initial police report called for MURDER charges, and finally reduced his recommendation to MANSLAUGHTER. Anyone with half a brain (which counts you out, sorry champ) can search it up "initial police report by detective serino" and have fun with that little fact. It was the FIRED police chief who decided not to do it and made people go nuts for Zimmermans arrest which got the governor involved.

So, for those people parroting misinformation about this, the initial police report DID NOT CLEAR Zimmerman, it called for his arrest for manslaughter after being edited down from murder. Go read it.

That's correct. His lead detective however who interviewed the suspect Zimmerman recommended first murder and then manslaughter in his final report. I understand the police chiefs role as well, but in the end he was removed, fired and replaced. I have no opinion on that and it can speak for itself. You can read interviews with him online.

however I don't agree that it makes him correct. A trial is PART of our justice system! We don't pre-judge. If we did, then everyone arrested is guilty and if you're not in custody you're innocent. He SHOULD have had his trial and finally he did, which is FAR better than the alternative if we're speculating on what might have happened if there were no charges.

Sooooooooooooooooooooo.. to address your first lie = "no one looked into it" or however you put it - implying that there was no extensive investigation, you've proven yourself a liar. There was an investigation and several detectives believed there was enough to press murder charges. The police chief didn't. The state didn't. Detectives did. You know.. detectives.. the guys who aren't lawyers?

The evidence was presented to the prosecutors office... you know, the guys who actually has to take it to trial and win and the prosecutor knew it was a losing case. Hence, no charges were filed.

So there is no argument that "no one looked into it" as you put it as the case was thoroughly investigated and reviewed and went all the way to the FBI well before the governor insisted on appointing a special investigator, ignoring the standard practice of taking the evidence to a grand jury and before any charges were filed.

And since you don't get it Tom, the entire case hinged on a single piece of evidence (with respect to the Murder 2 charge)... and thats whether or not what was said on the 911 call could convince a jury that he was acting of ill will, hatred, spite etc AND of a depraved mind. Thats why no charges were filed. There was no evidence to prove that beyond a reasonable doubt.

All you have to do is listen to the 311 call and hear what is basically a dopey dipshit, acting very calmly and calling in suspicious activity as he'd done 45 times or so before.

The detectives i believe were also of the opinion that he should have identified himself, should have talked to him etc. and that was the basis for their feelings on the situation. BUT that all has nothing to do with proving what Zimmerman was thinking when he was attacked (as detectives admittedly believed he was) BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT in a court of law.... which is why charges weren't filed. The detectives felt manslaughter was possible, but also admitted Zimmerman was credible and his story believable... which creates a problem when it comes to pressing charges.

Just curious why you point out the type of ammunition as to being a hollow point is because you think it is too devastating of a round and shouldn't be used?

Common practice for self defense with firearms is to use hollow point ammunition because of the stopping force and tendency to mushroom as to not over penetrate the target. It is also common practice to have a full magazine with a round in the chamber but this also has been misconstrued as unsafe or someone looking for trouble.

It's typical to get pulled over if you're driving with out of state license even if you're going only 5 MPH over the limit. Had he he taken the advice of the 911 operator, had he left his gun at home instead of taking it with him, Martin would still be alive. Zimmerman's actions alone killed a kid.
