Pretty sure there's no way Hank or Gomez are gonna survive that.

I'm guessing Walt refuses to cook and puts his family in hiding. I think uncle Jack is gonna force Jesse to cook for them. Walt goes back to save Jesse at the end with the LMG. Can't decide if the ricin is for Walt or for Lydia.

Out in the open like that, against a full auto shotgun -- they would have been dropped in an instant. That AA12 can throw out a wall of lead in one second.

This is getting really intense! Hate how we have to wait a week to find out what happens next, but seems like Hank and Gomez are done for now.

My guess is Jesse survives and cooks for those guys, then Walt uses the ricin for Jesse without him knowing and he moves away for good.

No one in the DEA knows Hank and Gomez are out there, the local cops and Marie don't know shit yet either. I think Hank and Gomez are totally fucked. I am not sure what to feel about the outcome for Jesse, maybe he's forced into cooking. Walt is totally going to be the bitch for the Nazis and they will add some drama for sure. No one really knows where the money is yet, but the Nazi guys now have the location.

Damn, that was intense. When those cars pulled up on the horizon at the end I actually said, "Oh fuck!" out loud.

I like the theory that they force Jesse to cook for them and Walter turns states witness against the Nazi guys then comes back to help get Jesse out before the Nazi guys are taken down.

I also have a feeling that Walt will refuse to cook for the Nazi's so they will kill Skylar and threaten his kids and that might be what makes him run.

I'm thinking Hank is gonna die. They were out in the open. Plus how Hank called Marie and said he loved her. That is tv and movie talk for "time to die".

Wouldn't it be wild if Hank died and Marie, in a fit of rage, Killed either Skylar or Walter Jr.?

Hank and Gomez are dead. Gomez probably dead when the show opens next week, hank probably dying so he can yell at Walt on camera before he croaks. Jessie is smart enough to tell the nazis they are standing on top of all of Walt's money before they have a chance to kill him. Then the nazis probably kill Jessie anyway and explain to Walt that its now their money, but he can 'earn it back' by cooking for them.

Great show... Just wish they had hank discover the info without Huel flipping so quickly, that part didn't seem believable to me.

After all that Hank's been through, I just don't think they'd kill him off. My theory is he finds a way out of the situation. All bets are off for Gomez. He's dead.

Hank - dying
Gomez - dead
Todd - dead
Todd's Uncle Jack - dead

Rest of the Nazis not sure what to do without a leader or their own cook have a massive argument and shoot each other.

i am going to let the writers, producers, director, and each and every actor slide for making such a shitty episode and allowing it to be broadcast.

that was not good, start to finish, top to bottom that was easily one of, if not the, weakest breaking bad episodes in the history of the show.

If Todd and Uncle Jack are dead that would be VERY interesting. Now Walter can ascend to the higher ranks of the white supremacist group instantly and continue his trajectory of failing upwards. The only problem is... that would be a great lead off to a whole new season, which they aren't doing. Though a movie to follow it up maybe...

True! It is interesting to watch. She seems like she is the edge of a mental breakdown, 24/7. Always with her brow furrowed and shifting about, nervously.

I wonder if she gets any dick at all.

just wrapped the 2nd viewing, it's certainly not the weakest episode, that's still reserved for the skyler's happy birthday mr. president episode.

nevertheless, a weak version of bb is still head&shoulders above everything else currently on tele.

well, 1st, i know this will annoy/irritate a few (hi amelia!) but i look at it like this, this show strives to produce the highest quality tele they can, even using literary giants like shakespeare and homer as inspirations.

and they succeed at that.

at the same time, i think their attempting to do that allows for people like us who are quite familiar with the show and even study the show, read about it and also engage in dialogue about the show to critique the show at the same high level.

that said, the bothersome thing about this show was the overall character actions and comments and such. for me, after 7 years of character development, i was surprised but what several of the characters did in this episode and i think even the actors were surprised by their characters in this episode and that showed up in their performances.

for instance, lydia the timid drug kingpin makes no sense. timidity is not a drug kingpin and not even how her character has acted up until this episode and a bit in the previous one.

the huell confession. there is no way in hell an attorney's body guard is not going to lawyer up, huell has more street smarts than that and that also to applies to his caving after seeing the fake brains blown-out pic. a street smart thug like huell has seen brains blown out and also had his fair-share of run-ins with the cops and would not have caved like that over that pic. moreover, ww owns a car wash yet dropped the van off with huell after burying the money for huell to wash? no.

ww's visit to andrea. why was that scene even in this episode? ww's plan didn't work, the scene was akwardly shot. perhaps it's going to be used in an upcoming episode but it seems contrived and useless in this episode.

the jesse picture text and phone call to ww. there is no way the walt i have come to know and loath over 7 years totally fell for that fake photo and phone call. here's why.
walt had jesse over a barrel with the previous phone call placed to jesse by andrea. if jesse had called walt and told him he's burning 10k every minute ww would have said i am on my way to pick up brock from school you fuckface, so if you burn 1 fucking dollar of my money, brock will be drinking a ricin laced sippie cup in about 4 fucking minutes.

stopping at the exact location of the money. putting myself in walt's shoes i would have been driving up to the exact location and not seen jack shit, i would have kept driving and not stopped there, there was zero need to stop at the exact spot.

the surrender. ok, this is big for me. seriously. what. the. fuck. was. that. ? walt surrendering by being dominated by his brother inlaw in front of jesse is not at all in line with his character. at all. not only that but there was simply no reason to have him dominated like that when it would have been more appropriate and make much more sense to have him be arrested in defiance, tony montana style, i will be out of prison in 15 minutes and you will be working in el paso tomorrow shrader.

the jesse loogie. jesse is a conflicted meth head psycho killer who just found out walt tried to poison brock. that person does not spit in handcuffed walt's face, that person walks up to walt and coldcocks the mother fucker.

wall of firepower. todd's uncle is turning up to be a worthy adversary to walt and it appears he *might* be who the guy is that takes out walt, which would bother me a lot, but that's another thread. anyhoo, dude had 6 guns on shrader. at least 2 were auto, 1 shotgun and 3 semi. i've shot 10s of thousands of rounds of ammo through handguns up to a .50 cal once, i am not worth a shit of a shot but even i could have wasted shrader if i had that amount of time to scope him in like how that scene played out.

a cliff hanger ending? shame on you vince gilligan, that's cheesy 1980's dynasty ending stuff, you are better than that.

The only problem with some of those theories is Marie knows that Walt was with Hank the last time she talked to him...

If Hank dies, Marie is not going to just fade away... unless Walt and Skylar both scare her.

What if they all died? How many episodes are left? Seems unlikely... series would end on a rather boring note after this week. It would be improper and a disgrace for Meth Damon (as someone on here called him) and Lydia to end the series... but it does seem like there is more of a storyline with those two.

Fuck. It can go anywhere now.

Edit: I still seems like there is so much story left and so little time. Also, just remembered Walt isn't dead because of the foreshadowing.

walt had jesse over a barrel with the previous phone call placed to jesse by andrea. if jesse had called walt and told him he's burning 10k every minute ww would have said i am on my way to pick up brock from school you fuckface, so if you burn 1 fucking dollar of my money, brock will be drinking a ricin laced sippie cup in about 4 fucking minutes.

stopping at the exact location of the money. putting myself in walt's shoes i would have been driving up to the exact location and not seen jack shit, i would have kept driving and not stopped there, there was zero need to stop at the exact spot.

the surrender. ok, this is big for me. seriously. what. the. fuck. was. that. ? walt surrendering by being dominated by his brother inlaw in front of jesse is not at all in line with his character. at all. not only that but there was simply no reason to have him dominated like that when it would have been more appropriate and make much more sense to have him be arrested in defiance, tony montana style, i will be out of prison in 15 minutes and you will be working in el paso tomorrow shrader.

the jesse loogie. jesse is a conflicted meth head psycho killer who just found out walt tried to poison brock. that person does not spit in handcuffed walt's face, that person walks up to walt and coldcocks the mother fucker.

wall of firepower. todd's uncle is turning up to be a worthy adversary to walt and it appears he *might* be who the guy is that takes out walt, which would bother me a lot, but that's another thread. anyhoo, dude had 6 guns on shrader. at least 2 were auto, 1 shotgun and 3 semi. i've shot 10s of thousands of rounds of ammo through handguns up to a .50 cal once, i am not worth a shit of a shot but even i could have wasted shrader if i had that amount of time to scope him in like how that scene played out.

a cliff hanger ending? shame on you vince gilligan, that's cheesy 1980's dynasty ending stuff, you are better than that.

Here are a few thoughts of mine on some of what you have said.

Quote:
for instance, lydia the timid drug kingpin makes no sense. timidity is not a drug kingpin and not even how her character has acted up until this episode and a bit in the previous one.
I have always seen her as someone who kind of got in over their head and never knew a way out. I think she is in this and is too scared to try to just walk away.

Quote:
the huell confession. there is no way in hell an attorney's body guard is not going to lawyer up, huell has more street smarts than that and that also to applies to his caving after seeing the fake brains blown-out pic. a street smart thug like huell has seen brains blown out and also had his fair-share of run-ins with the cops and would not have caved like that over that pic. moreover, ww owns a car wash yet dropped the van off with huell after burying the money for huell to wash? no.
I don't remember Huell ever saying much. Sure, you would think he would lawyer up, but he has always been the tough guy who does what he is told. I have never held him up to any particular level of trust. When his world suddenly comes crashing down around him maybe he just decides to save his own ass. When the ship starts to go down the rats start jumping overboard. As for WW not taking the vehicle to his own carwash. He may not have wanted to be affiliated with that van in any way. His employees could see him in it and if they were ever questioned about it could connect him to the van.

It is a little too easy that things went down this way, but in the last episode Jesse did tell WW that he was going to hit him where he lives and as he pointed out all that WW has left that he cares about is the money. Add in that his cancer is back and he is stressed about Hank and everything else and it could have just sent him into a rage. He has gotten angry in the past and done pretty dramatic things.

As for the last part where he arrives where the money is, doesn't see Jesse, yet stops exactly where the money is and looks around then turns himself in. . . well, there potentially could have been better ways to do this. I could see him pulling into that area because he doesn't know if Jesse has dug all the money up and is somewhere else or what. Then when Hank shows up and he surrenders I have a feeling he had a different plan in mind that involved that video he made or something else, but it was all, literally, shot to hell when the Nazis showed up.

Was it the best episode they have ever had? No, but still think it was pretty damn good. I see WW as slowly spiraling out of control. He is a cornered animal is striking back and that means he may not always do the smartest things not to mention he no longer needs to keep his actions hidden from anyone so he can cut the secrecy out of things and just act.

What if none of them died? What is Walt somehow signaled the Nazis to stop and they did?

Hank dying creates problems. Hank not dying creates problems... unless Hank and Gomez have the shit scared out of them and just give up. Is that possible? They still don't have anything... although Walt was close enough to the money that a search team could easily find it. There is a chance that the DEA brass wouldn't believe them, but I think they would with all of the bullet holes in the truck.

I just can't imagine Marie not calling the DEA herself if Hank dies or goes missing. Skylar never liked Pinkman, so her wanting to off him is believable, but I couldn't imagine her OR Walt putting a hit on Marie.

Again, this is all me wishing everything could just end on a happy note and bygones being bygones and everyone moving on. I keep trying to drive the storyline there in my head. Vince and the writers won't let that happen.

I thought Walt was going to shoot himself in the head when he started crying behind that rock.

Who the fuck spray painted the wall? Hank? Gomez? Jesse? Skylar? Marie? Someone else?

i'm figuring relentless's failing up angle has to be what's going on here. the failing up is being turned into flailing down. i do get that. ww's hiding the gas can in the neighbor's garbage can in the last episode and a couple other sce, oh, the scene where walt jr. calls him on lying about the gas smell, are both him flailing around for how to get himself out of this particular jam.

so i do see (think?) that the writers are moving towards walt's ending by finally having one of his grand schemes fail. it just seems that the jammed that pretty much all into this episode. and that's a tall order. i would imagine now that they have us all (the viewers) pointed in the right direction, these last episodes are prolly going to be tight.

Putting everything on Todd and Lydia could still be a possibility though. Walt is pretty convincing when he wants to be. I think he should still pull the wool over Hank's eyes by convincing him he was at the bottom of the ladder.

Still trying to figure out the angle of Todd possibly having something for Lydia and where that could go.

i'll guess it's going to split up todd's crew. the way his uncle and the other dude were eyeballing lydia, i suspect todd is going to kill that dude which will cause his crew to splinter.

i stand corrected on the confession. ww is certainly prone to them. this is the 3rd one he's done and the show even started off with a walter white confession under duress.

:-)

hah, in fact, that original confession in the 1st episode of the show was at that very same location.

:-)

I don't know if Todd likes her or he wants to rape her though. He is an interesting character. Acts nice and helpful. Like a little kid. But he shot that kid on the motorcycle without hesitation.

There was a lot in this episode. Normally they would have taken 2-3 episodes to cover all this ground and done it with great tension and detail.

I have a feeling they realize they have a lot of loose ends to tie up and are quickly running out of time so they are cramming more and more into the episodes.

thoughts on why they had white being so dominated and subjugated by shrader in front of pinkman like that?

and i am using all of their last names specifically, this was a very macho scene and quite frankly, i am stunned by white's lack of it here.

My thinking. To create a sense of tragedy. Hank had White where he wanted him. He was being the typical cop that is in control. The rush from nabbing Walter and his cash. Making it all the more tragic to lose it all.

Ever seen a cop search your car. They yell at you, tell you to stand here and there. When they get it your car they look like kids under a Christmas tree, looking for that big score.

Hank had public enemy number 1 and a record breaking cash haul. All to be lost in the next few minutes.

As you say, they rarely do anything in this show for no reason so there is likely some kind of subtext to why they had White like that. On a more obvious front, I think White thought he could get out of it. I think his arrogance still had him believing that he can control Jesse and I think he feels like he could still outsmart Hank, but he knew that he was caught so he gave into them at that moment if for no other reason that he didn't have any other real option.

The way they had him kneel down and all that stuff is how the police arrest someone that is very high risk so it was accurate, but I also think it was meant to make Hank and Jesse feel like they had finally beaten Walter.

I think much of this episode was mostly a setup that is leading us towards Walt's likely face-off with the Nazi crew. Why he is going to face them I suppose remains to be seen, maybe they find his money, maybe they kill Jesse and he wants revenge, who knows, but I established that those guys have some serious firepower and they are not afraid to use it which is why he needs that M-60.

i certainly can't see the writers jumping the shark on this scene but it possible, again, the happy birthday mr. president scene with skyler still has me scratching my head.

but, more likely, this scene and the absolute complete breakdown of ww via confession after seeing the texted pic of his money and all, combined with this scene can be an accelerated descent into failure for walt. again, i'm thinking it's a lot to pack into an episode and perhaps the spped of it threw me off.
