There's that one car that never let you down, that one computer that just does its fuckin work without any problems forever, that one bitch who never got sideways or over on ya, an old chair that still makes your back say ahhhhhh.... you know?

I love when something just WORKS. Like this laptop, got it for $40 up in Orlando. It's only a core2duo but it's LED and it WORKS. It has for a year now, no matter what I throw at it, or how hard I have thrown IT.

For all of the shit that does not work these days, it is nice when some things do.

I have a Thinkpad that's very similar. That fucker has never given me a minute of trouble but it has been replaced twice by newer and flashier laptops that I ended up hating (an Asus and a Macbook). I started thinking about another laptop again so I just upgraded the RAM and threw in an SSD and the Thinkpad kicks ass again.

I bought it for $120 on Craigslist a long time ago.

I'm also sitting in a cheap, ugly chair that has my butt groove permanently stamped into the cushion but it's lots more comfortable than the "pretty" office chair I have at my main desk...a chair that I paid about 6x more for.

Yeah, fools I sell computers to always want to buy this one from me. This thing has a chipped corner, missing battery cover, scratches all over it and afro engineered charging/power cable.. but they want it anyway. I'm always, eh, I think I'll keep this one. One of them will finally break down and pay me extremely more than it is worth - and I'll still hate parting with the thing
