Business topic about Bitcoins
As if there wasn't enough topics already... Yet I haven't seen much about processing or accepting Bitcoins as payment.
So let's say I want to accept Bitcoins on a website or I want to sell a car and accept Bitcoins in person, how is it done? I don't see much talk about actually using them for day to day buying or selling, most talk revolves around their market value. |

I think if you wanted to accept Bitcoin on your website Bitpay is the way to go, it seems the most popular although I think their are wordpress plugins available that do similar. Obviously security is an issue though.
If you have sold you car and wanted to accept payment in Bitcoin you would just send your key to the buyer and he could either transfer direct to your wallet or through an escrow service. |

I've had a conference call with the CEO of BitPay,(another non-US) processor, and one exchange founder. Accepting btc is amazingly simple, you/your site doesn't even need a "processor"(though they make it more convenient). The problem is that it is ridiculously hard to get btc in the first place. two choices right now (for US citizens)
- meet a stranger at a starbucks and hand them cash or deposit money directly into their bank acct. then they send you coin (localbitcoin) - go through the 1-2 week process of setting up and exchange account, wire them your USD, and hope that this wasn't over a span like the recent couple weeks where the price blows up both of these options take too long and are by normal person standards risky. The US's money xfer regulations have prevented a simple solution to this. It's the biggest hurdle
