Dude, you're fucking one of the weirdest mother fuckers around here. Maybe it's just me, but about 95% of what you post makes no sense.

What are we looking at here? What is the context? What is that sign stuck to? The front of a scooter wind shield? Is that a bus toll collection box? Is it in a cab?

Seriously, you're like scary weird.

If you are confused why something like that would be posted in a store, it is because the store probably got burned by a lot of counterfeit $100 bills. I seen a similar sign at the shithole I get my hair cut at. If that is not what you are asking about then I have no idea what you mean.

Dumb ass, you ever see a place that has a mandatory rule of not accepting a $100 bill?
Work your brains out a little, lazy fag.

Some places don't keep more than 50$ in cash in register at any time(I see this signs very often).
Once I received counterfeited 100$ bill. It was bleached out 5$ bill with 100$ picture typed on it. If you try counterfeit pen - it shows yellow line. But surface was kinda suspicious. Only if you check water signs you can see the difference.

Very often I see small business don't take AX(4% fee), or gas station with prices lower for cash paying customers vs credit card.

Many smaller outlets don't usually keep much cash on hand for change.

It's a THEFT deterrent you asshat. If somebody comes in to case out the joint to see if it's worth robbing? They may think twice and move on to another store or establishment. They have shit like this in cabs, pizza joints for delivery drivers, etc. That's what red blinking lights inside of automobiles do, it's what home windows security stickers do. It's a psychological red flag. ALL OVER THE FUCKING PLANET

Damn, you are one dumb mother fucker

I have been in many states. All states have this. Do you travel by car? Next time see signs when you stop in Kwik Mark gas station or similar. Even my food store has this sign - not a shit hole, nice small town(CT). But I have seen it in FL, GA, RI, SC, NY. I believe some businesses use this signs evening/nights only.

Lol Sid you are so clueless. This is perfectly normal thing, tho not on every store. They dont accept it for same reason as they dont accept 500 EUR in europe(which is largest denomination as 100$ is),and that is to avoid counterfeit money and "mafia money".

$100 and EUR500 is fucking like Moon distance different. Here, people get nervous to see a PLN 100 bill, but hey $100 restriction... Fuck, that's insane.

Again, I have never seen that shit, but I have been to NY and NJ mostly, so what do I know LOL.

Such bullshit. Counterfeit only plays a very small role... They use the signs because if they happen to have more than a few customers "break" the larger bills, their till will not have enough change for the customers. For smaller stores because they don't have enough employees to have one running to the bank in the middle of a busy shift, and also the larger stores, as they regularly empty the drawer and put it in the safe so as to never have a large amount in the register at any given time... or... if they do, it may deter those casing the place, similar as a flashing light or security sticker as stated above.

This is all due to robbery, so this method actually addresses a few different things all at once. Such as a few others suggested above...

Small or not,it still a role. And yes change is indeed big problem in retail,i experienced it too,had constant problem with missing small amount money. And when i want to pay with bigger bill in store,i very often get answer "oh no can you pay with smaller amount, pleaseeeeeeeee". That is why when i go with bigger bill i go to store which i know they can return money.I think this problem is caused by banks-as when you go to ATM it throws money in big bills only, you cant customize it.

Jesus Christ there's a fucking Wendy's here that has a sign up that they won't accept $50 or $100 bills. You know they have the cash flow. But as was said already, IT'S A THEFT DETERRENT! They only keep less than 50 bucks petty cash in the drawer, and drop everything else into a safe. So if someone comes in to rob the place (or a shitty employee decides to empty out the drawer on his last day) they get less than $50. In turn, that give the store the ability to only cash bills under $50.

It's really regular brick and mortar commerce, and if you don't get that, well...
