So Ray Rice gets suspended for hitting his fiance AFTER she hits him. In the video you can clearly see she walks by him and smacks him in the face. Then in the elevator he smacks her and she lunges forward to attack him again and he ends the fight with a knockout punch. Now had both of these people been the same gender nobody would have an issue with one of the people ending the fight. Or if the genders were reversed and he had punched her first and she ended the fight with a knockout nobody would have a problem with that. If fact many biased/pro-domestic violence/man haters and white knights would be cheering her.

So here is an example of the injustice of DV (domestic violence court). Many of the women are also abusers but when the man hits back he is the one who gets arrested. And even when a man does not fight back HE STILL GETS ARRESTED. A woman's word is all that is needed to get a man arrested and convicted of not only DV but sometimes also rape.

For the record I would never hit a woman back and never have even though a few have punched me pretty hard. I just walk away to avoid the confrontation. However men should be able to fight back just like a woman has a right to fight
back.

I am fine with women being allowed to hit men and men not being able to fight back as long as we go back to women not being able to drive, vote, etc etc. I believe in equal rights but if women don't want equal rights then they should be stripped of some rights.

Did you read my post? I said that I have never and would never hit a woman back even though I have been punched really hard a few times. My first wife was a 5' 10" Irish girl who could throw punches harder than some men and I never once retaliated. My point is that I believe in equal rights and clearly some of you do not. I bet a woman like Michelle Obama or Serena Williams could beat the shit out of many men. Heck I am pretty sure that Michelle Obama could beat up President Obama. To me, the idea of not hitting women isn't "no matter what" it's basically a truce. And it goes out to everyone. If you are not an immediate danger to me, and as long as hurting you isn't the only way to make you stop hurting me, then I'm not going to hurt you. Cause that's just not what I do. I don't initiate violence against anyone. Gender is not a factor. But if they initiate it, they cross that line, all bets are off.

Now, obviously I'm not going to beat a 90 lb woman to death cause she stepped on my toe, but if some crazy lady is coming at me with a bottle or a knife of a baseball bat or whatever I am gonna do what I can to make sure it comes out a lot worse for her than it does for me, and I might put a lot of effort into it since I'm not really a fighter and I'm not actually sure I can handle myself all that well. I am pretty unathletic, so there's likely a good amount of women who would have no trouble hurting me physically if they set their minds to it. But that's just me, and it's a pretty unlikely scenario. But, I have been attacked by insane jealous latinas with kitchen knives and other household items on various occasions and well, shit got real. Nobody died, nobody went to the hospital, but I might have if I hadn't used physical force to neutralize the situation.

Edit: um, obviously none of this has anything to do with the situation being discussed, which I am not familiar with at all.

Defending yourself against physical attack is not a matter of legal rights other than - does the person being attacked have a reasonable expectation that they are in danger of bodily harm or death.

It has nothing to do with sex other than most men wouldn't feel in imminent danger after being slapped by a woman. Now if she's holding a knife, gun, hammer ect and is threatening you with it I think a jury would feel that a man has a right to physically strike a woman to protect himself.

If you're striking a woman or anyone that is lesser in strength, size or power so that a normal individual would not feel physically threatened by that person - you're probably going to seen as the aggressor by a jury.

They were both arrested and charged with simple assault then released on bail. Later, once the video surfaced his charges were increased to aggravated assault and her charges were ultimately dropped. He struck a deal that allowed him to complete some kind of anger management type classes. If he completes everything to the court's liking the charges will be dropped.

He and the woman in this video were engaged when this happened. They have since gotten married. I can't imagine it will end well.

It has nothing to do with sex other than most men wouldn't feel in imminent danger after being slapped by a woman. Now if she's holding a knife, gun, hammer ect and is threatening you with it I think a jury would feel that a man has a right to physically strike a woman to protect himself.
