I think not, there is different scenarios that allows you to use copyrighted material without having a license. That doesn't change the fact that the content is or was copyrighted by someone at one point. The reply that was made somewhat suggested "the rules doesn't apply to me, I'm trying to be funny"

Generating views of copyrighted material without a license on a business forum from a profile that appears to advertise it is "best in class" content publisher (tube uploader? ) doesn't seem to fall under the "fair use" clause.
The posts is obviously created with the intention to create attention to himself as well as whoever he is engaging in a "troll fight" with. I'd say its part of him branding himself for the purpose of generating long term income as an established persona on this board. It's been done a dozen of times on this board and made the people who did it successfully very rich. I remember at one point there was a "rent a troll" program.

You may consider it an innocent joke, but do you think the person that created this image and sells it for $50 licensed to be used for this specific purpose agrees to that ?

Again, I have no clue what specific licensing is being used for any of the pictures/ graphics or videos posted or referenced. I'm just playing the devils advocate because I like to stir shit up and there is a lot of people here that seems to think copyrights only apply to their specific content / segment.
Just for the sake of argument, if I pay $100 for a couple of pictures of some fruit to post it on facebook or some "professional fruit" forums, why shouldn't you pay for content you post on a forum where you represent your business ? It really doesn't matter if its something you are posting because you are trying to be funny or not. It represent your entity hence it has a commercial purpose.
The copyright law looks at intentions and purpose not if you are being successful .

there was two ways of handling this.

Option 1)

Explaining that although you support anti piracy and even contributed to anti piracy, you in the heat of the moment decided to do what the rest of the world seemed to be doing and make a few cents from something that was given away for free anyway and is readily available for free all over the internet.

You without much thought used a file locker, uploaded pictures that are all over the internet for free and try and make a few dollars from them. No real thought in it and certainly no real intention of harm or piracy.

That in hindsight it was probably a silly but not malicious thing to do and in hindsight it would probably best not to have done it and it has not made me much money, but has made me look a bit foolish.

Option 2) Call everyone bitches, tell everyone who has pointed out what you did wrong that they liked to suck your cock. Dont show an ounce of humility, tell everyone who actually explained how what you was doing was wrong that they were haters who ate your cock and were homo bitches.

Personally I would have taken option 1

But each to their own
