Considering that Russia denies to be any participant in the war in Ukraine; it kinda hinders what they can do. Bombing Ukraine with Topols might tad hinder that "We are not in there."-thing and Russia's political goals in Ukraine and elsewhere.

But sure, if Russia would declare that they are the master race and in desperate need of more lebensraum, and that they are in total war with everyone; that could speed up things. At least to some direction, maybe not to Kiev direction.

Russia could take Ukraine in a heartbeat if they wanted to. However, if they did, they would face the wrath of the other nations condemning their actions and risk facing even more sanctions.

Instead they support the movement by supplying it with arms, weapons, vehicles, money, intelligence, and in some cases men. This gives them some form of deniability while scoring political points for it with the population back home.

Although I don't see the end game for Russia. Great, they can take back some territory from Ukraine. It's not valuable or strategic, and the short term political victory they get for this will be greatly outweighed by their ability to fund and support Eastern Ukraine.

Russia still depends on international business. They can't just openly invade another country that did nothing wrong or it would force the hand of others to step in. Sanctions would be much worse ect..ect.

This is why Russia, US ect.. wage what are called "covert wars" where they back third parties with very little troops on the ground. It's because there is deniability and in most cases it works good enough.

However in this situation, it's blatantly obvious that Russia in sending in both troops and weapons yet denying it at the same time. It's just games, because if Russia admitted to it, then it would force NATO or other European countries to intervene.

What I'm calling out is not so much what Russia is doing, but that you little Putinbots are so fucking brainwashed that you actually believe that your supreme leader Putin is telling the truth..

Problem is that Ukraine didnt provide a single photo or video or something that can be taken as a proof there is russian forced there.
Which is pretty strange, since there are alot of photos of ex-ukrain tanks shotted on cameras.

Consider it, somebody could lie about that war.

as far as I know Ukraine was not a sovereign country during USSR times. It was annexed by Stalin and stayed like that for 50 years or so.

BTW, who "Russians" are? Almost all citizens of the Ukraine are ethnic Russians (course there are other nations like Poles, Jews, Armenians etc). So mostly they all Russians (there is no Ukrainian ethnicity, but only Ukrainian citizenship). On the other hand, they are not citizens of Russian Federation. The problem is that English is a very poor language, which can't describe such a simple thing. When you say "Russians", do you mean ethnic Russians (the majority of Russia, Ukraine and Belorussia) or citizens of Russian Federations (Russians, Tatars, Jews, Armenians, Georgians, Suomi and 100+ other nations)?

For example Sid70 is ethnic Russian (he is "ruskie"), but also he is an Ukrainian citizen that left his country and now live in Italy. So if he'll get an Italian citizenship, he still be an ethnic Russian with Italian citizenship, who early was a Soviet Union and then the Ukrainian citizen. A bit confusing for the American brain, isn't it? ;)
