Who sends dmca's to google?
I am but do I need to re-think this method of having google-links to copyright infringing materials removed?
The thing is.... pirates, thiefs and freeloaders are very much helped with this method because once links are removed google will display in it's search results the Chilling Effects take down results.... Which means that pirates, thiefs and freeloaders will have lists full of links to all materials that copyright holders wanted to be removed.... often of course not without good reason... heh.... So... this turns against copyrightholders... making it even easier to locate free/illegally uploaded and distributed content....

I had done a top 10 list and had used a photo of a girl I was promoting. Google blocked the page and did the chilling effects business. I removed the picture and submited a reinclusion request. Sorry, it's not relevant to your question. |
