Wet plate photography - Looking for educational resources

I've posted this on a couple of other sites so why not here.

If anyone knows of a good book or similar resource on how wet plate photography is done. I would really appreciate the recommendation.

Thanks

You should find books about this in good second-hand bookstores, sometimes there's something at ebay. A German magazine (photoklassik[dot]de) entered the market only a few months ago. Since "real" photography is becoming a matter of status the movement seems to be growing. (I rediscovered shooting on film two years ago - big love.)

Why not do a Google search for something like "wet plate collodion books"? Here... I made it easy for you: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...llodion+books+

I was interested in this "technology" but decided to invest my time learning platinum printing instead. Wet plate collodion images all have the same look, platinum printing (like traditional silver-based printing) is way more versatile, IMHO. It's a look, just like HDR is a look.

I prefer working in film. And yes it's a matter of status and it's also where the money is these days. I shot some footage 3 months ago and for the shoot the client gave me use of a 70mm Mitchell motion picture camera. I swear I almost had a heart attack when the guy made a joke that I could keep it.

Well I've done the google search but it's more of "what's a good book" as opposed to some sort of slapped together how "for dummies" guide.

I'm actually going to do this for a client. It's the old story of I've never done this but the gig pays well so I lied and said I had done it before. Thanks for the help I'll let you know how it turns out
