Also, they specifically have a registration covering "web site management, development, and hosting services."

I bet you file DMCA's and lawsuits when your IP is infringed upon, though.

I believe everything posted above by epitome is accurate, although I doubt Harvard would dignify this with a suit. I am not an attorney, so do not take this as legal advice.

More importantly, why the fuck are you publicly posting personal data from a performer's 2257 info????? Or did she tell you to make that public?

I'll take your word for it, if you say she thinks this is a great idea in the trailer. I'm not opposed to the girl owning what she does, I respect that much more, just think it should be her choice if possible.

Hi Biggy,

It's really not a good idea to have a Harvard-looking logo or to even mention Harvard in your promotional materials.

Even if you are sure you would win if they sued you, the thing you need to do is not get sued in the first place.

If Harvard University found out about this, they could sue you, and then you will have to spend a lot of money just to defend yourself. Forget winning or losing - just the cost hire a lawyer to defend you can be expensive. Chances are you may want to settle it out of court but it will still cost you.

Several years ago we advertised a "Star Wars Night" on our chat site. We had female chat models dressed up in Star Wars costumes, playing with light sabres, playing games, getting naked, having sex etc.

Well guess what, we received a cease & desist from Lucasfilm. We weren't using their logo but we had a Star Wars'ish looking banner that they could have sued us for if they wanted to. We got off easy.

If you really consulted a lawyer and he really said you're cool, then go for it. But if you haven't received legal advice on this, then maybe you should reconsider your marketing a little.

Besides all that, she's a cute girl for sure - good luck!!

I'm done answering to the peanut gallery on this. Do yourself a favor and actually go look and see what the Harvard logo is. And read the entire thread while you're at it.

I appreciate your feedback on educating me about the legal process. Lawsuits are expensive, thanks for that tidbit of info. And yes, anybody can sue anybody for anything. 'Murica.

Not much of a problem using the word "harvard" since she was/is a student there...

Just like when Playboy tried to sue the hell out of a centerfold for her use of Playboy in her keyword tags on her website way way back, since she actually was in playboy she was allowed to use the words the judge ruled.. don't have time right now to look up the case name, but it was ruled in her favor..

It's not like Biggy is trying to mislead someone or sell something harvard related as an item that is bunko... it's not like he's trying to direct potential students to his site to steal traffic from harvard..
