We are currently in an ice age. The temps mankind has been used to for the past two thousand years is changing, and going back to normal. It's going to get hot.

I doubt there is anything we can do about it.

CO2 is one of a few greenhouse gasses. Too much of these gasses trap heat, warming the planet up. CO2 is absorbed by trees and planets.
