if tube sites are so bad then why do publishers offer long vids for affiliates?

I guess the title describes it all. I've been browsing the forum, doing searches, reading threads. The search feature can't keep up with me I guess. I've searched google for the info I want and I always just come up with the same arguments and software options. I could be working on my sites and being productive with just a couple of answers.

I see so many arguments on marketing tubes. Honestly, I want to use tubes to market my growing phone sex company. I figure they come to see wank material and a percentage will call, which seems to be happening. I'd like to make money on the tube affiliate programs as well.

Why, if tubes are doing so poorly as some suggest, do sites offer so many tubes with so many 7 minute happy endings with every single nook and cranny filled?

If they are hurting the market then why do so many people offer them?

I was thinking about making a small gif or very small clip out of the 7 minute films, but it's going to take new software on my end because I have the webmaster version of Adobe without Premier bla bla bla bla bla... I can do it with the free stuff, but selecting a clip and exporting is so much easier than exporting first and then finding the gifs which is what all the cheap and free software seems to do.

Anyway, I'm rattling on so I'll sum it up for impatient people like me:

1. I would think free tubes would hurt the market, do they?
2. If clips do hurt the market then why do companies offer a whole scene in a clip for marketing?
3. If clips do poorly or hurt the market then why do so many adult webmasters offer them?
3. I want to do my part in not hurting the market and I want the best ROI. Can you offer a suggestion on a software product that will save from a selected portion of a movie to an animated gif file? I've tried so many and none do what I want unless I subscribe to Premiere. Oh and unfortunately, I'm on Windows Vista.

Thanks

Hi Claire, I agree with you and see the same problem.

As a surfer, tube sites are very compelling. You click and click and click to see one video after another after another. When the guy finds what he wants, he's "done" in about 5 minutes. He has no reason to click through to a site that charges him whatever when he just got off for free.

Tube Surfers are also immune to the banner and text ads too. If he's looking for blonde blue eyed boobie girls and an ad appears for anything else, he will completely ignore the ad.

If you try to show a 5 minute scene that is watermarked covering up the juicy bits, he will just click away to find another video.

*IF* there is away to make tube sites work for you, it has to be with a video that really gets the users attention and forces him to click through to your site. The video has to be fun and or funny and or sexy but ultimately, extremely creative.

I heard a pitch by this dink of a sales rep years ago who was asking models and producers to provide his tube site with 10 minute hardcore clips, claiming that this were the most popular, and would therefore get the most views, etc. What fucking bullshit.

I don't know how to advertise on a tube site and expect results, I'm sorry. Hopefully someone else here can help, and provide stats as proof.

LOL. Cause many are clueless.

I just downloaded some "promo" vids for tube from a sponsor I like. 10 min video, 1.4 gigs. They have no idea what the fuck they are doing.

Me? I'm going to chop the video in 3-4 pieces at 640 without the cumshots and will make sales. Enjoy your day.

I don't think you read my whole post.

I did mention where I would make mini clips, but in gifs to save server space. With the right software I can make pretty good quality small gifs without adding a ton of bandwidth or space.

Thanks for the advice, it is a good idea.

Thank you for the answer. That's exactly what I was thinking which is why I was going to make some mini clips out of gifs and host them instead of posting them just like what we do on clips4sale.

Hey dont get yourself mix up, there those tube who simply go around post full movie and kill the market then you got those who work their ass off to make thosr 7min appealing and makes u wanna see the rest like crazy. Believe it or not those legit tube can still make good money. Just tired of reading the same book over n over and let people put every tube out there in the same basket. My 2cents

You can make nice gifs easily using adobe photoshop cc. You don't need a big budget as the monthly subscription is only 10$

Good Luck

Thanks, I appreciate the input.

The ones I have are very descriptive and I think a little too much so.

I might experiment where I'll put up a mix of different ones and setup different campaigns to see which one gets more clicks, hits, and more calls on different toll free numbers.

This isn't just measuring the clips, it's also my personal marketing niche of phone stuff.

Thanks I might do that. I can get the whole suite for 2 or 3 years at $50 per month right now. I use dreamweaver and fireworks frequently.

The model began and still works on the same principle...Its stolen content.

The crazy thing is now tubesites actually pay people to produce exclusive content because they have essentially stolen everything stealable and are having to continue to feed the beast to keep the traffic high. because without the traffic they cant engage in the real business...which is moving massive amounts of money around the world.

You're never right about anything,... so why start now. There are plenty of vast tube networks of nothing but licensed and sponsored content.

The only kind of tube sites I would release are the ones where I've either bought the content through a provider and I have the rights to resell or the video is from a real affiliate company.

I'm not an apologist for anything. I am also not obsessed with the success of others to comfort myself in my own failure. You failed. You're done. You're just an obsessive megalomaniac who flunked out of porn who is now little more than a watered down, untalented Luke Ford, making facts up on the fly under the auspices of being "in the know", to avoid trying at anything. At least he eventually wrote a book. You can't even write a single sentence that can't be called into question for its inaccuracy.

I buy traffic from tube sites... I review them all the time. Usually about 3000 or so in my stats on any given day. The majority of them are using sponsor content. I know how much traffic they have and I know exactly what its worth. You have no excuse for not succeeding, you simply are more comfortable blaming others and pointing the finger outward. If Mindgeek and their sites ceased to exist tomorrow, you'll still be broke and you'll never build anything of substance. So their existence or not as far as you are concerned as a supposed business person, is a moot point.

Totally agree with this part. The big different is when you show the ad related to the content or history of the visitor. Search Technology in combination with ads is a big PLUS. Both for advertisers and affiliate programs.

More advance is when a user clicks on a category or does a search and you know this user email. Send him few hours later a email. And start with ;

Hi James, I am Ann from NY. I know you from the chat site XXX and saw you where looking for somebody with blue eyes and big Tits. Any time to have a chat with me.
