Just watched the rest of the debate off the DVR. Even as a liberal, I found something to agree on with just about every candidate, except all the "life begins at conception" horseshit. And the Iran deal opposition is so obviously partisan it's not even funny.

But the ideas on tax reform and tinkering with entitlements all sound good to me.

I haven't hear him say anything that would "rally up the far extreme right" except on the subject of ILLEGAL immigration.

What other things are you referring too?

And even though I disagree 100% about a "wall" and all this b.s. about "illegals" (the only problem is being caused by the U.S. "war on drugs" that is bringing all the violence)...I have to ask you: Do you have to be "extreme right" to have an opinion on illegals immigrants in the country?

Do only "Extreme Right" people want a "wall" on the border?
No "Liberal" people think that way at all?

Does that mean that all "Left" and all "Right" people think in unison and have no individual thoughts or beliefs?

Remember crockett, there's a reason that Fox News and the Republican Party want Trump out. And it's not for fear of hurting their "brand" (how ridiculous is it that we even entertain the notion that a political party has a "brand" lol )

It's because he doesn't answer to them or kiss their ass.

Did you see the tweet he sent out to all the Republican candidates who showed up at the Koch Brothers gathering last week?

"I wish good luck to all of the Republican candidates that traveled to California to beg for money etc. from the Koch Brothers," Trump tweeted Sunday. "Puppets?"

Funny how some people are acting like Trump has something to say or piece or that anyone is going to learn something new about him. He had a hit TV show, he written countless books and he's been a media fixture for decades. He was the same cunt in the debates as he was leading up to the debates as he was in The Apprentice and as he has been in every interview ever. THAT is why he is popular right now. He's not fake and he'll tell it like it is.

For real though, the post-debate polls aren't just a victory for peeps who value stream of consciousness brash/ignorant/tourette-style remarks and hit-the-amygdala-sound-bites over logic, wisdom and reason, the results are an indictment of your whole constitutional republic

Trump serves as a mirror for a specific segment of the American population, and the view is pretty ugly. If I think about it for too long my head will explode, that people can perceive off-the-cuff ignorant remarks as 'straight-shooter' truth and value that instead of demanding more from their prospective leaders. Ethics, honesty, wisdom, egalitarian leadership, all that kooky ish.

This goes beyond Trump btw, anti-intellectualism is a time-honored tradition in your nation. There's a reason why peeps on the US campaign stump pose with guns instead of books. There's a reason why such an obscene amount of cash is needed to even get a shot at the brass ring.

Looking at the US from outside, y'all have a system that's irrevocably broken as fuck. Due to the set up of your campaign system top echelon money and power alway win, people don't. if I was a US citizen I'd hold my nose and vote democrat but I wouldn't be pleased about it; to me the choice between the lesser of two evils is not an acceptable range of viable options.

No wonder almost half the people in your nation can't be bothered to show up at the polls.
lol probably Canadian, where a school teacher is the leader of one of the major parties. school teachers rank about as low as it gets for raw brain power among college students.

People who consider themselves intellectuals rarely are, what they are is people who read what real intellectuals write and transfer that intellectualism unto themselves simply because they can read and parrot what they've read. People who like comedy often are the same, enjoying comedy doesn't make you funny, it makes you somebody who can recognize a smart comedian.

Politics THANKFULLY doesn't attract real intellectuals, intellectuals couldn't run a Subway franchise. They do have their place in the world, their ideas both good and terrible influence the rest of us.

I do not understand this "life begins at conception" stuff. No, life does not begin at conception. Something that is unable to breath on it's own is not life.

What's even more disappointing is all of this talk about de-funding Planned Parenthood. Abortions is only about 3% of what they do. Removing all of the support Planned Parenthood does for young mothers and children is a massive miscarriage of justice.

And I honestly do not know why we are still discussing this - We have Roe vs Wade, and it's been the law of the land since then. Anyone who says the Supreme Court should not be making such decisions utterly fails to understand how our government works, and thus should not be running for President.

Huckabee's point is that several scientists and doctors are now saying that science proves that life does begin at conception.

I personally am torn at this point in my life. Always thought an abortion wasn't that big a deal when I was younger and that it's a woman's right.
Now...I try to stay out of the discussion, because I just am not sure anymore.

And IF the pro-life people are correct...then we might have been having the biggest slaughter of all times.

Again, I'm not saying that. I'm still "pro-choice". But I'm not so sure of myself on the subject anymore.

Anyway, here is a sample of what Huckabee was talking about:
Dr. Jerome LeJeune, professor of genetics at the University of Descartes in Paris, was the discoverer of the chromosome pattern of Down syndrome. Dr. LeJeune testified to the Judiciary Subcommittee, “after fertilization has taken place a new human being has come into being.” He stated that this “is no longer a matter of taste or opinion,” and “not a metaphysical contention, it is plain experimental evidence.” He added, “Each individual has a very neat beginning, at conception.”

You can google it up and find a lot more on it. I just did and that was one of the ones I found.
I couldn't find any doctors or scientists claiming otherwise. The only dissension I could find to Huckabee's assertion was from bloggers and extreme left crazies who were busy taking shots at him and making fun of Republicans.

it's much more complex than this. in fact, planned parenthood is the largest provider of abortions in this country. and that's not all. the issues with them also include their documented selling of fetal organs and tissues, their live action efforts, as well as other issues.

I am not anti abortion but there has to be some middle ground. You currently have Planned Parenthood harvesting and selling body parts from viable fetuses. Abortion should be legal up to a certain gestational age after which it should be illegal.

58 million in the US since Roe v Wade. That's almost as much as the death toll during WWII.

I was watching a discussion about this on CNN the other day with one woman who was pro planned parenthood and another one who was for defunding them.

The one who supported planned parenthood made that same argument that Rochard made in the post you quoted of him.

The other woman replied: "Why is it neccessary for taxpayers to fund them? I thought ObamaCare was supposed to take care of all that"

And you know what? She's 100% RIGHT.

ObamaCare forces everyone to have insurance including all the prenatal and pregnancy. So Planned Parenthood's services in that dept. are obsolete under the Affordable HealthCare Act.

I don't understand this at all. Don't hospitals do this as a part of their business - The medical industry does testing on cadavers, right? Why should it come as a surprise that Planned Parenthood does the same?

Yes, there should be some middle ground. Late term abortion are dangerous. But what I heard last night said "Life starts at conception". No, it doesn't. That is just forcing someone's religious agenda down my throat.

yeah it does bro. i know pro choice likes to argue about viability etc but from a biological basis, once the sperm & the egg dance, the embryo slash blob of cells is like any other organic matter in nature. it needs help to grow, but so does the tree, the virus, & every other life form on earth.

its ok though. its OK to be pro choice & recognize the blob is a life form & is extinguished. many living things never have a chance to sprout & prosper. protecting every blob for its potential of life is a fools errand anyway. its totally tied to obsolete concepts of people being children of a god. but dont act like its not a life. if your mom was in a different mindset, you coulda been an abortion. be grateful mom wanted you.

Not exactly a fair comparison. Cadavers are made available by people who have chosen before death to donate their bodies to medical research and education. Fetuses obviously don't get that choice. Regardless, I don't think it is in the mandate of PP to make money off of trafficking in human body parts. If it is it shouldn't be.

Is it that late term abortions are dangerous to the mother that makes them of concern or that they end a viable human life?

I don't believe it has to have anything to do with religion at all. I think there is also a credible scientific basis for the "life starts at conception" line of thought. Either way I don't see rebellion against religion and/or religious morals as a reason to give up our humanity in recognizing that abortion ends a human life and that on some level it is still barbaric and wrong even if it is permitted.

It doesn't matter.. He was the biggest moron pushing that shit and it shows he doesn't have good judgment. Add that to the other shit he's done and said and it just piles on to show the guy doesn't have any common sense nor would he have the ability to negotiate with out pulling a Dyna mo and name calling and acting like a 12yo..

I mean shit, look at how he acted on Twitter last night.. The guy acts like a child or like a spoiled brat whom never got told no..

Then of course there is the entire fact he's yet to do anything but pound his chest and call people names.. He's not gonna be president..

You are talking about Republicans here.. Despite that it's been shown that giving teens access to condoms lowers teen pregnancy they still try to ban that and want to teach abstinence only.. Which has been proven to cause more teen pregnancy..

Republicans aren't very good at looking at their own ideology and determine it doesn't work.. They just keep trying the same dumb shit over and over like a crazy guy beating his head against the wall, expecting the wall to move..

Then it's settled...none of us should vote for Trump to be the Republican nominee.

Oh wait. None of us can anyway, you have to be a registered Republican.

Have we all been arguing over nothing? lol

Have we all been arguing over nothing? lol
I would love to see a Donald Trump presidency, but only because of the constant laughs it'll supply.

I'm not gonna deny the guy is entertaining.

But what I don't understand is the mindset that ONLY career/lifetime bureaucrats are capable of governing.
Especially when they have so definitively done such a horrible job of it.

The founding fathers never envisioned that kind of thing. Any citizen was supposed to be able to serve (and then go back home and resume their real lives).

Are you satisfied with what the 2 party system of politicians has accomplished? Wars. Huge debt. Our freedoms being slowly eroded. A govt. that is basically trying to run our lives from cradle to grave.

How can you not want to sweep that shit clean and stop feeding into the false idea that these politicians are somehow magically smarter than you are?
They aren't.

And none of them had ANY experience in govt. until they started doing it.

Just look at the President for a prime example. He had zero experience. And yet, he is the President.

Don't you ever wonder why we all keep voting in the same 2 parties over and over in alternate patterns? And things just keep getting worse...

You are a fucking hypocrite piece of shit.

I will continue treating you like you deserve to be treated. You wanted to make this about name calling when you started with the name calling. Don't be the punkass little bitch you are and whine when I serve it back to you.

What a fuckwad. Attacks me then gets butthurt when I fight back.

Most of them do not believe in that, they have to say it for additional votes. As simple as that.

Those polls are not accurate because many vote for their favorite candidate, not for the one who did best in that specific debate.

Latest poll has Ben Carson winning the debate, and 30% of repubs say Trump lost the debate.

Ben Carson Scores Big Win at the First GOP Debate followed by Marco... -- WASHINGTON, Aug. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

What's hilarious is all night after the debate Trump went on a juvenile Twitter meltdown against Megyn Kelly. Yea, this is the kind of dumbass we need having the nuke codes. We would be at war with 100 different countries if he were ever elected (which he won't be).

The rich boor character who gets worse when encouraged is hilarious. I have him on my Twitter, it's 4AM and he's still tweeting like a mofo, insulting anybody and everybody who doesn't kiss his ass. 'Clown' 'Not a good person, a beggar' 'Never liked her, ugly person' 'Total failure, people don't like him'
Thanks for heads up about his twitter

Honestly, I wish he wasn't sucking a jack ass.. I love to see more candidates off the 2 party leashes.. However Trump just isn't a compitent leader. He might make an ok king of his own empire, but it's clear he can't work with other people and his hot headless would likely start a war.

If you decided to run for office and call your self a Democrat, then you could do it. There is no one that can stop you. The only thing they can do, is not give him the nomination and give it to someone else.

Even then I think he can still run as a Republican.
