Why Paypal only accepts Epoch and not accept CCBill?
Paypal made a deal with Epoch but why they don't make a deal with CCBill too?
CCBill is also one of the best risk processor in the world like epoch. However paypal only accepts their pilot program for epoch.. Thats strange... |

Im pushing some adult program with paypal as payment option and i tell you I make three times or so more sales, I guess people see they can have more control using pp to avoid extra charges in their cc or recurring charges, they trust more paypal, I hope more programs would use it

I'm just taking a guess, but I think Epoch was able to make the deal with Paypal by taking on 100% of the risk. Just a theory of course. I would assume that if this works for Paypal they may start working with other payment processors too, but I would guess that Epoch's agreement with Paypal would stop them from doing this. Just a theory again. Regardless, Epoch's deal with Paypal is epic.

If you think about it, it's a big win for Paypal. They can to enjoy the revenues from adult businesses while keeping adult at arms-length too. In this deal, Paypal may have no risk at all. So signing an exclusive deal with Epoch would make sense with them. I'm also guessing there's a time-limit on the agreement. Maybe after a few years, the agreement expires and then Paypal would be free to explore the possibility with other providers too. Still - great deal for everyone. I'm impressed.

We have been following it very closely and PayPal is aware of our interest. Hopefully soon they open it up for others to offer. If they gave us the API today, we would have it connected within the hour.

Somewhat recent changes to policies at PayPal forced that payment processor to abandon the majority of high-risk merchant accounts they serviced, and their collaboration with Epoch is an effort to regain the business lost from those policy changes. May be with other processors too.. |

Well, and why does PayPal not accept using their system for Porn in general? See the terms and conditions ..............
So Epoch having an contract with them, is definitely an infringement of competition law as they give Epoch and their customers a competitive advantage. I sent Paypal a letter what they didn't even answer!! A big company with the force and money should go to court regarding this matter! Eve

If it's not still in test mode, then why have they not yet either rolled it out to CCBill and the rest, or pulled the service altogether? Unless of course they are going to buy Epoch

I haven't heard much about it but I think it's reasonable to assume that Epoch is using Paypal as more or less of a gateway with it's own MIDS, greatly reducing Paypal's liability for direct transactions, and as far as indirect transactions from the customer's balance, I am sure Epoch is taking 100% of the responsibility.
I don't know why they don't do CCbill too, but if they did the question would be "why not segpay then, why not Zombaio, why not fuckyoubill and flybynightpay too? The whole idea of a test is that it's with limited participants. But the real issue is this hipocrisy of payment processors trying to limit the content their users can consume is getting thinner by the day and it won't last much longer. We'll either be living in a muslim world where bacon and porn are punishable by death, or we'll be in a free world where bacon and porn are required to prove you aren't a terrorist. - OK that's obvious sarcasm but I think it's high time mainstream payment processors wake up to the fact that wankers gonna wank and start getting paid for it.

Not to be anal about it... But just looking here on this forum( for example) on Zombiao issues... It is clear that it is: Epoch,Verotel, CCbill who are the "gradfathers" of the industry and should have PP without a big hassle from PP, the other should prove their "bonafides" to PP first.

For those of you using Paypal now, how are the conversions, chargebacks and what are the fees like as opposed to Paypal direct? NETbilling would certainly add this if we have the opportunity unless it isn't working well. I have heard mixed reviews thus far.
Thanks, Mitch

I am actually agreeing with you, indeed PayPal and others should not be allowed to discriminate against a legal business....However, short of a class action suit by all of us adult webmasters to force PP to treat us as any other business and winning it, then we should start with that : " we do not process adult" ( high risk or not) ... This should be the same as : "we do not serve gays" or " no Jews allowed"...., it is discrimination, censorship whatever you want to call it. Then the excuse is "well look at all these adult processors they are crooks" and partially they are right...I went trhu at least 4 of them who shut thier doors overnight and stuck me for thousands, hence my reference to Zombiao ( a likely candidate) so using Epoch,Verotel and CCbill was my way of suggesting that this excuse does not hold watter....and once they have it all other legit processors will follow. One more comment: I do not believe that PP would ever allow individuals to buy porn from websites or websites using PP to sell to individuals ( as in the past)....America is too fucked up for that : "lets ban nipples but it is OK for a jihhadi to buy AK 47...." ![]() |

I have stated that clearly... i had PP in 2009 for about 3 months ( did not realize they do not do adult...FYI my site are individual movies ...many playing Sky,HBO and even Turner...go figure).... But they are soft erotic and one morning my PP was gone. When I introduced PP the sales went up at least 5 fold, once they killed me it went down about the same amount.
I hate these fuckers but hey, business is business... ![]() fyi I have 0 chargebacks... In over 30,000 transactions we had about 4 chargebacks ( two were crooks, one appogized since he could not figure out how to download. ONLY one was " real" since he thought when he bought the movie it was educational documentary about lesbians in prison, and he was disappointed because if was "chicks in chains" movie. My guess his wife caught him....) So high risk..my ass !! |
