Why do people vote for Trump?

Just watched a program on Donald Trump. Getting past the egocentric part of the man. There seems to be a hypocritical approach to his campaign.

He became rich by using illegal migrants to built his hotels, he most certainly employs them today. He has used every opportunity to get rich at the expense of others and now claims he will make the US great again. Which begs the question. Who, why, when and how did the Number One Nation in the World, become not so great and will slip behind an once Third World Country, if it hasn't already?

1972 Nixon visit to China was the beginning.

Free Trade Agreements

The result of these deals is seen here.

U.S., China Make Progress Toward Trade and Investment Deal.

The reason for the decline of the US was big business exporting jobs and importing cheap labour. While big businesses decided a tax haven was a better place to place their HQs. Big business could have shut down jobs for illegal migrants in an instant, they didn't.

So the representative of the problem, and part of the problem, is going to solve the problems by destroying what has made the him and the rich far richer.

He will build a wall and make Mexico pay for it. How and why wasn't it built 20 years ago?

He will block imports from China. So what about the rest of the Third World and how will that effect to profits and earnings of the people he rents hotel rooms to? This is the loophole the poor don't see. A huge part of his wealth is based on him selling to the 1%, if he does what he plans, he will make them poorer and by doing so, himself far poorer. He's so reliant on the 1%, he's as much in their pocket as the politicians we now have.

If he blocks Muslims, does that mean the Muslim billionaires he does business with, or maybe they won't do business with him.

I can't wait until Trump wins and orders the military to execute Order 66 on all the low energy losers.

The fact the controlled media is smearing him should tell you that he's on our side e.g. he's willing to speak out against Big Pharma

Well I will tell you this.

People have had to compromise for so long for the "lesser of 2 evils" than they are finally actually happy to see one that is just pure evil and admits it openly.

He is like that asshole George W Bush on steroids! These retards just love that shit...

I am beginning to think that Donald Trump just wants your vote and will tell every voting block he wants to vote for him what they want to hear.

An angry chicken for every disillusioned voter's cooking pot.

Some of his statements and proposed policies are so audacious or ludicrous I think I am watching a sitcom on TV with The Donald in the starring role.

Close down the factory in China and open one in Queens. To make ties no one will buy.

Close down the factories in the Third World and make the goods in the US. See prices skyrocket, malls become ghost towns, shops close and workers sacked.

How easy it is to talk bullshit. Problem starts when one thinks beyond the soundbite.

You are trying to rationalize with the same people who thought Sarah Palin would be a good VP. It's like having a room full of retards and playing Michael Jackson.. they go ape shit crazy.

Well it's the same with the dumbed down right wing. Some rich celebrity comes along and starts saying buzz words and the retards go nuts..

You can't argue with dumb people. They will never get it.

Trump turned $1,000,000 into billions and became an icon known throughout the world. Yet most people who win hundreds of millions in the lottery end up bankrupt. Trump's accomplishments are his own, not his dad's.

Right...that's like saying George Bush Jr would of become President even if his daddy wasn't in politics..

Read through this entire article. Trump supporters display themselves as just what I thought they are...a mixture of ignorant, misinformed, racist and just plain stupid. There's lots of xenophobic talk, white persecution/discrimination syndrome, some serious detachment from facts and reality...and some ineloquent English to boot. They're largely morons, but a lot of them are just old angry white people who watch too much Fox News --- supporters on this message board notwithstanding, of course. haha

Why I'm voting for Donald Trump - CNNPolitics.com

maybe this is the evil liberal biased media characterizing them this way.

Why I'm voting for Donald Trump - CNNPolitics.com

it's absolutely bizzarro to attack the supporters.

what do you think you're trying to accomplish? you're going to goad people into agreeing with your choice of candidate? you must know that doesn't work.

it's like this thread. why do people vote for Trump? what the fuck. GFYers have been asking me the same question about my supporting Sanders. I'm supposed to defend my current choice of candidate to the GFY lynch mob? gofuckyourself.

Think about what you are doing by goading and lambasting supporters like that.

we all get it, the libtard lynch mob does not like Trump. you hate Trump worse than you hate FOX news. but you just look like the hateful 8 in here pointing your finger at his supporters and needing them to explain themselves to you.

it's even worse than that, i just don't feel like keeping on pointing out how wrong.

Trump polls well for 3 reasons:

A lot of people like his non-political-correctness approach.

A lot of people (surprise surprise) are also very 'no shit' in their attitudes on a wide range of issues, thus they feel akin to Trump's like-minded direct take on things.

And lastly, a lot of people actually LIKE the idea of Trump's wall, one that keeps out illegals and forces them to enter the country legally or not at all.

Trump's the only one taking these hard line stances, and even people who don't really like him are buying in because, well, he's the only one taking those stances. The rest of the pack on the Republican side are all taking softer more tactful approaches, some trying to appease the religious right, others trying to make basically everyone happy. Trump doesn't give a shit about making "everyone" happy. He's all about eliminating everything he sees as nonsense and BS out there, which as I've said is something that appeals to a great many Republican voters.

He started of with 100.000.000$ bank money from his dads connections. The very first building contract he landed was with his fathers connections. Even with all this, and playing business on "easy" mode in the USA he managed to bankrupt his business 4x.

His dad bought millions of $$$ in chips in his sons casinos to save his ass.

He got in to gambling, with huge connections, and dads money and went broke. Its like playing a game on easy mode, with cheat codes, and still losing, 4x

But what really makes me laugh is his explanation for the bankruptcies. "They are not personal they are corporate" it is the intellectual equivalent of saying "a loophole in the law stopped me from going under 4x so it does not count I am the balls!"

there is a law in my 3rd world shit hole that prevents any CEO that had a business in bankruptcy in any way from becoming a CEO of other companies <----food for thought

Trumps daddy left him $40,000,000 in 1974, not one million, which is equal to about $300,000,000 in today's money. He would be worth more now if he would had simply put his money in the stock market and did nothing. And no, most people who win hundreds of millions (which there arent many of) are bankrupt, but Trump has filed for bankruptcy 4 times.

but he's not a stock market guy. He's a real estate developer. high risk. a ditch digger would make more if he worked the stock market.

he's done 100s of big deals and made big mistakes along the way and kept going.

Trump is one example of the American dream.

The republican voter base have been lied to and voted for candidates that promise the world and deliver nothing. They "think" Trump is different, telling it like it is, shooting from the hip. Now that the "value" vote of gay marriage is a non issue all they have is repealling Obama care to get votes.

Trump appeals to these people deep seated hate and rascism.

The republican party is in real trouble if Trump doesnt win.

Not the Dems are much better... as someone said, lesser of evils.

Politicians are supposed to be serving their consticuency, instead they serve the almighty $$$$.

The Donald worked with his dad in Queens for a few years in the 70s building rent-controlled housing before branching off on his own in Manhattan. He owns 500 business according to his financial filings, and out of those 500 only 4 of them have used Chapter 11 restructuring laws to renegotiate debt, keep the business open, and keep people on the payroll. It's disingenuous for people to act like Chapter 11 bankruptcies are his personal bankruptcies rather than the ones of his company. Trump himself never failed and went bankrupt. A big part of his business plan is buying up failing/failed companies, restructuring them, and rebuilding the company. He then decides whether or not he will keep the company as an asset and absorb it into his empire or sell it off for a profit. Sure he used Chapter 11 in 4 cases, but that is standard business practice. You get the company's debt under control by filing for protection from creditors who would otherwise destroy what is left of the company with the obligation, and undergo a plan to restructure while paying some of the debt back. There's nothing unethical or illegal about it. It's just because Trump is a billionaire and the media wants people to believe that someone with that kind of money should never need to use bankruptcy.

Criticizing Trump for those Chapter 11's is like saying Babe Ruth was a shit baseball player because he had 1,330 strikeouts in his career.

That argument has always been based on bad facts and bad math. It makes the assumption that The Donald got all of his inheritance in 1971. He was given control of the company but he wasn't given control of all the money. His parents lived until 1999 and 2000, and his father's holdings, worth $200,000,000, where split between Donald and three siblings. If he had total control of his dad's finances in 1971 then he wouldn't have needed the $1,000,000 loan from him in 1975, which was when he decided to break into Manhattan.

Besides, even if the "if he had just invested all his money in stocks he'd be richer" argument is true, it doesn't take into account the fact that Trump has established a brand that people all over the world are aware of. If he just put all his money in stock, he wouldn't have any Trump buildings and casinos, golf courses, TV shows, media presence, and a real shot in the presidential race at the start due to name recognition.

Hillary will be indicted and a whole lot of Bernie supporters are illegals or 20-somethings who live at home and need their parents to drive them to the polls.

I make a point, then you answer it by trying to turn shit around on me with something totally unrelated. I don't argue with people like that.

there's a reason you can't argue with that.

I think it works like this 40% or for anything 40% or against anything and 20% are fucking confused

That analogy likely works really well when aimed at those lacking either the intellect, time or desire to consider it's validity. It's a nice little catchy 'soundbite' for a talking head to blurt out in interrupting another talking head while attempting to gain 'control' of a 'conversation' and cause drooling viewers to focus on his face for a few flighting seconds at which point some other talking head will attempt to successfully repeat the very same process. Seems like it would also work well as 'click bait'. So nice work if you're the one who actually came up with it as it does have some value.

Unfortunately it's flawed as achievements should be measured relative to goals.

When Trump got his money his goal was to make a splash doing real estate in Manhattan and beyond.

I don't know much about Blizerian but from what I gather it's entirely possible that becoming 'internet famous' and fucking as many Instagram hookers as humanly possible were two of his primary goals.

You can judge their goals all you want but the fact is both have been extremely successful relative to their goals, maybe even equally, so the analogy is total bullshit. Sorry.

Get the Fuck out of here with your politics Redcoat.
You represent the same insanely power-hungry redcoat traitors who once tried to disarm, enslave and rule over colonial America.

So Trump is in; and you're out. Deal with it

cool speech but wrong.

nowhere at any point ever did i claim bilzerians accomplishments are not in line with his goals. the point i did make is one hires strippers and posts pics of them on instagram, the other is running for POTUS.

it was implicit.

I mean surely something caused you to write the post, right?

could it have been the fact that 4 of the 6 previous posts had discussed Trump's inheritance? maybe not but if you can't see how it would be reasonable to assume that most people would believe otherwise and think it was in reference to what i said it was then you need to work on your communication skills.

Trump and Cruz are just saying whet the audience wants to hear. An audience too dumb to think.

One scream he will send in the troops to kick ass. Isn't whet they did in Afghanistan, Iraq twice and Libya? So what's the plan after tow two week invasion and $100 billion dollars plus lives lost?

The other screams he will carpet bomb ISIS. For every member of ISIS, that will kill 10-20 innocent civilians who are likely to become terrorists.

One screams he will stop Muslims entering the US. Does that include EU born Muslims? And how does he tell who is a Muslim?

what you said about trump using illegal imigrants and fucking over everybody he could is true...its just that he did not get rich, he got born rich...
Then he went bankrupt and was only saved because he was too big to fail. Even his claimed wealth isn't as big as people think. He's in debt up to his neck and should he hurt the 1% who stay at his hotels and buy his expensive goods. He goes broke.

And he was the first "Too big to fail." In fact he has said that if you borrow a lot, the debt becomes the banks problems.

Quote:
In order to avoid having to file for bankruptcy, Trump met with four of his major lenders: Citibank, Bankers Trust, Chase Manhattan Bank and Manufacturers Hanover, and told the banks that if they foreclosed on his properties they, too, would lose tremendous amounts of money. By his own lights, Trump was too big to fail. In the end, he convinced the banks to loan him an additional $65 million, which he'd use to keep his businesses afloat. The banks also agreed to defer, for five years, the interest and principal payments on Trump's outstanding loans. As Trump would say, â??â??It came out that the banks really liked me a lot and they respected me and they respected what I had done.â??â??

Absolutely. Yet these are the people they have been voting for, for the last 50 years.

The Wall is just one issue the voters can't see beyond the soundbite. There's a far easier way to stop people coming into any country. Take away all financial benefits and hit those supporting illegal migrants with huge fines and/or prison.

Sending in troops, imports from the Third World, bringing jobs back to the US, etc. Are all great sound bites. Has he spelt out how he will do it and the after effects, such as prices in the shops doubling or trebling?

And that says it all.

When a European sees dirt poor farmers in the Midwest scream adulation for a far right business owned politician who is so reliant on businesses to fund them. We are amazed, confused, bewildered. In Europe the political divide is very firmly based on income, poorer blue collar workers vote Left, better off white collar workers vote Right. Simply because they know where their best interests lie.

Blaming the politicians for being no good, is missing the point. Millions vote for them.

We have an organisation that's set on turning Europe into a Federal State and there has been no EU wide referendum.

The US system is so cast in stone, no one without $millions can get into office.

These aren't democracies Lincoln would have been proud of. As for the UK, we have been trying to get away from an elitist ruling class for centuries, now sleepwalking into an new one.

Finally, for now, what happens in the US has huge effects on this industry and the world. I have every right to comment. I never comment on the way Togo runs its affairs.
