Adobe creative cloud

I have been using adobe for years. I signed up on their monthly plan about a year ago for $29.99. I just received a email saying my renewal is next month an the payment goes to $49.99 a month due to I was on a promotion deal. I'm not sure the programs a worth renting for $600 a year. Whats the best alternative for Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Premiere, ect..?
Thanks

Software as a service is where it's at these days for companies like Adobe.

I hated it at first BUT I was using old versions of the Adobe software and didn't want to play the upgrade every year or so game. I actually don't mind the monthly fee. I can stop it should I not need it any longer.

If I bought the shit for $2k I am stuck with old software that is worthless in a couple of years.

When you consider that it is tax deductible it becomes a little bit more palatable as well.

I get the education discount. $17 a month or something like that.

I actually go to school, but to get the discount they basically ask you where you go to school. I used my gmail account that I've already have, so I don't even think I had to provide my school email address.

Beats shitting your system up with old pirated versions.

$49 bucks a month for the whole suite of Adobe Creative Cloud apps is a bargain.

I don't understand why people have a problem with it. Look at all the apps you get and you never have to worry about buying upgrades.

Its a bargain if you use it a lot but not if you just edit a few things here and there. Awesome software but it would be cool if they had a pricing structure for non pro artist and hobbyists.

They get my money every month. It certainly beats spending a whole Sunday trying to crack some outdated copy of the software

Get a job then.

$49 per month is less than I spend on coffee in a week.

If you want to use their tools pay for them, if you only use PhotoShop that's about $10 per month.

Being a hobbyist or non pro artists really isn't a justification for a discount.

DaVinci Resolve is a grading software but you can edit pretty much everything in it as well. It requires a bit of getting used to it but it works great and it's free.
Blackmagic Design: DaVinci Resolve 12

I would recommend asking google and testing few alternatives out.

Photoshop:
Pixlr (in browser), Muro (in Browser) or Krita, GIMP or Paint.Net

Dreamweaver:
(this is a bit hard since there's no exact thing and depends on your knowledge, etc.. but take a look at these)
Aptana, Komodo Edit, CodeLobster, SublimeText, Atom

Premiere:
- For complex video editing: HitFilm Express or VideoPad Editor
- For simple video stuff (cut and compress): Avidemux, Handbrake, Freemake, Youtube Editor (in browser)

Now these are all free tools. They are not as powerful as Adobe but if you combine them you might end-up with the same results in the end...

There are many options out there so take your time and explore them all (try them out)...

The big question for you - is it worth the hustle... if it is than go for it!

You didn't said PC or Mac... My list above is software for PC.

In your case, using it just "maybe once a month" it is understandable that you would be hard pressed to justify spending $600 a year...however, for professionals who use it daily it is more than worth the price of admission to have access to this amazing professional tool.

For those who are not professionals there are many alternatives that will do...but for use pros there is no substitute for Photoshop.

Yea, that's what I was saying, for pros's it's an awesome deal, but for someone like me that just likes to play around or maybe do a small graphic every once in a while it's a no go..

I'd like to keep up with photoshop and learn illustrator, but it's not worth paying $400/year for those two programs.

Nobody owes you anything, if you want to use the software then pay for it. Otherwise find an alternative.

Next you'll be saying you want a $2000 computer for $20 a month because you only use it sometimes.

$2k computer is a one time investment and you OWN it..

I would prefer paying $600 one time than $20 a month. Hate commitments and monthly expenses.

Another option would be Davinci Resolve Lite, which is free and is just as capable an NLE as Premiere or Final Cut Pro X.

I have used it exclusively for my last handful of projects. It can more than do the job.
