Recent Episode of The Walking Dead

I'm a pretty big fan of the series. Have seen every episode live when it came out, from the first season to this last episode.

However I admit the show is fun and addicting (especially if you have a Zombie Fetish like me) but it's far from great. The reason is a lot of episodes like this last one. Anyone who has been following this show from the beginning knows that many episodes are nothing but filler. This last one though, was as bad as it can get.

Hearing Maggie trying to negotiate was cringe-worthy. It just didn't work at all. Not sure why she had to do that anyway. However the ultrasound test at the end of the show has to be the most pathetic shit I've ever seen. I mean seriously, wtf was that?

I'm afraid they are running of out ides.

Nah the whole thing is building up to a showdown with Negan. The calm before the storm.

And Maggie is just plain fabulously FINE (as in HOT). Just sayin'. LOL

You do know they are loosely following the graphic novel? If you familiar with that at all you will know there is still a lot to happen. None of which I will ruin for you.

How is it possible you think this show is good when you thought Mad Max sucked? (rhetorical, no answer needed)

This show is classic soap opera - Add Zombies. Every episode I watch there sit there shaking my head thinking - there is no way most of these idiots would have made it this long in the zombie apocalypse. Fear the Walking Dead is even worse.

Those people in that new town, wtf. Spears being made by a blacksmith? Give me a fucking break....

I drifted away from The Walking Dead a while back once the two cops were fighting over the one chick. I wanted Zombies, not two boys fighting over some chick.

I gave it another chance this season, and it's been good.

I don't understand why they had Maggie trying to negotiate anything. She is hardly the person I would want negotiating on my behalf.

I also don't understand the direction this is taking. After the zombie apocalypse, at some point they should be hunkering down and trying to rebuild society - very much like they did in The Stand. Find a small city, put a wall around it, and start rebuilding society. I know this is what they are doing, but it's on too small of a scale.

I also do not understand their obsession for motorhomes. If I was out running around after the zombie apocalypse, and had full access to anything I wanted.... I would be rolling around in the biggest SUV I could find, or some kind of armored military vehicle.

TWD seems to cycle through a pattern:

Major zombie episodes, relative calm/character development, scavenging/adventure, living people problems ... repeat.

Personally, I tire of the heavy zombie, hack and slash episodes. I thought last episode's "deal" to take out Negan for supplies was an odd turn. The group turns overtly mercenary but justifies it as "them or us eventually." This season will culminate in a showdown. Rick's group will prevail against Negan (of course) but there will be losses (including a major character). I think losses will include Abraham, as they are now pumping up his emotional/love life side for affect.

It was far better when they were on the road fighting Zombies and outlaws.

With all the love interests, kitchen-sink dramas, it's lost some of it's original appeal. It needs more thrilling drama.

Vikings is back. Even if it's shit on Saxon History, it's good.

I still read and hear about "The Walking Dead is boring on this episode." But, they forget there is a lot behind it. There is a story, character development. Etc. Some are just too simple minded to understand it isn't all about slaying zombies and running around aimlessly like their own brain.

I get tired of watching CGI kill after kill.. Once in a while it'd be cool if they could find a way to use some restraint with the editing instead of having this desperate need to show us their hard work making a CG knife blade plunge into a skull for the 100th time.

and I really wish they make an attempt to address where they're getting all of the 5.56 and 7.62mm ammo to fire full auto with. Bullets would probably be as scarce as a cold bottle of beer.

I'd think that when you go out into the wasteland to scavenge, you'd probably be likely to say "ok, I have three bullets...two actually, because I need to save one for myself. I'll have to use my sling shot if I get into trouble."

And Maggie wouldn't be getting fucked by Glen. The Alpha male buck would have slit his throat and gone balls deep in Maggie months ago.

Can someone tell me what kind of gun could fit up Carol's sleeve (with the magazine), and have the power to take down a truckload of assholes from that distance with that kind of accuracy, and also not eject shell casings?

It could be an imaginary plot convenience gun. That kind of shit drives me crazy.

I get tired of main characters getting captured by other groups, only to miraculously fight their way out. 3 times now in almost as many episodes.

I like how it says :
Carol (Melissa McBride) hides a compact MAC-11 up her sleeve before shooting down Saviors with the gun in "East" (S6E15).

The amount of bullets fired was from a long clip. That wouldn't fit in her sleeve. There's nothing compact about that gun. It has a boxy, tall profile and a long clip.

Tv show logic, I know.

Yep, funny how Darryl and Rosa just got snuck up on in the woods and Dwight was right behind him all of a sudden.

Anyone ever tried to walk silently through a woods while hunting? Pretty much impossible unless you are moving at sloth speed.

and why haven't they been shot on sight? Rick's bunch has already killed about 50 of theirs and all they've been able to do is kill a fat medic chick while aiming for someone else. They don't seem too formidable.

If things go according to the graphic novels, you're going to have to wait until next season. They probably won't show Negan until the last minute of the last show. That will be the big reveal to get people excited about season 7.

I haven't watched any episodes in a while, but Darryl is not a character from the comics. He was created specially for the TV show.

I'm interested to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan take on the role of Negan. Pretty good casting in theory. I hope they keep Lucille with him!

I was referring to Glenn. Negan kills Glenn in the graphic novels. Daryl is a fan favorite, so he'll probably survive. They can do whatever they want with him. He's the made for TV wildcard.

The action scenes are pure bullshit written by lazy writers. Ammunition would be scarce at the rate they use it unless they had access to an Army Arsenal, a shield would be mandatory when fighting off Zombies with a lethal bite, food production would be the top priority, biscuits would be a thing of the past.

Scavenging and food production would be major tasks, not sitting around contemplating the meaning of life or making it look like life was returning to normal.

To top it all was the hot shower scene. This was an insult to our intelligence, my 14-year-old said, "Where did they get the water and heat it?". There was no point to that scene, we know they love each other.

They would be living in an environment without fuel, ammunition, where groups like the Saviours would be a bigger menace than Zombies and every bit of food had to be grown or raised. I'm assuming they have lived in this world for 6 years.

Also, why does the sun always shine? Very rarely does it ever rain, never seen snow or any other weather. They're obviously on the East Coast now. Is the weather always that kind?

As for continually creeping up on people in forests. Try a paintball game in the woods and see how alert you become.

I don't know what you people are watching, but this may be without a doubt the shittiest season yet. I'm seriously considering abandoning it next season. It's just too much to bear. The mindless, pointless, trite, repetitive, gushy, corning, conversations that take place really fuck up what could be a great show. Before anyone attacks me saying I don't enjoy character development or slow-moving plots, let me just say, BULLSHIT! I love that stuff. But that is not what this is at all. I'm 100% convinced that all the stupid talking/reflecting/deep thoughts are nothing but filler to keep you watching from one episode to the next. The cliffhangers, by the way, are getting old. Always the same shit. Fuck this show. Not sure i will continue watching. I don't give 2 fucks about the comic, but I doubt it was this bad.

The realest post-apocalyptic movie I have ever seen is without a doubt The Road. This is what the end of the world would be like: cold, famine, dread and cannibalism. Now I'm not saying they should make TWD as bleak as The Road, because nobody would watch it, but yeah a lot of that stuff is just insulting. The sexy long hot shower, the ultrasound scan, the endless amount of food, ammo and gasoline. These people seem to be better off than you and me.

There are over 12 billion (BILLION) bullets produced a year in the U.S. alone. You have arsenals like police stations, military bases, and add personal homes where a vast majority owns a firearm or 10, then there is plenty of ammunition to go around. A shield wouldn't be necessary since the zombies move like 90 year old men with a severe case of arthritis. Now if they moved like they did in World War Z, then yes, shields would be necessary, along with great running shoes.

With over 95 - 98% of the world population gone, food would be in abundance. All the canned foods with the same shelf life as depleted uranium, and other goods they can grow on their own. I think food would be the least of their concerns unless they run out in their immediate area. They should be holed up near a major metropolitan area rather than out in the styx. In order to have hope, you would have to live your life as if things were eventually going to go back to "normal". That's coping 101.

They have gas (to run generators). They have a vast supply of water. And they have fire. Put them all together and you have hot water. But I agree on all the cheesy love scenes. Is that supposed to make us care more about the characters? I liked Michonne better when she was the bad ass black Samurai, and not sucking Rick's cock while trying to play Suzy Homemaker.

Quite the opposite. With the majority of the population wiped out, fuel, ammo, and food would be abundant. It's not like gasoline rots after a couple months.

Also, why does the sun always shine? Very rarely does it ever rain, never seen snow or any other weather. They're obviously on the East Coast now. Is the weather always that kind?
Good question. No argument here.

Again, I agree. But any type of zombie you can walk away from (not run or jog, but walk), then it's not really much of a threat. The thing I don't understand is why they're not all wearing zombie gut suits. They only wear them when they need to get out of a pinch. If it were me, I would be sporting zombie guts like a fitted Armani suit! Intestine headband and all.

OK I did not read the graphic novels. I got my misinformation about Darryl from Chris Hard Dick on The Talking Dead. LOL I deserve a clean kill.

Their current camp, Alexandria, was set up as an independent, solar energy sufficient subdivision. The grid is still working. I think they did a good job story telling the guns, power, ammunition and food (mostly obtained through painful scrounging). Food and ammunition are really low right now, hence the deal with Hilltop and scouting the metal foundry for reloading.

I do think the action sequences are hokey. Zombies with egg shell skulls somehow possess fantastical jaw power. Remember the Governor's science dude who wore a chain-mail suit they couldn't bite through? They should all be going out with that shit, not bare armed! I'm getting tired of the live vs live factions stuff, too.

There have been countless scenes where a shield would have made a better tool than an arm or hand to hold off Zombies. A shield holds them back giving a second more to deliver the killing blow. Also, as a group, they form a wall and stab freely. They also have a very bad habit of going off solo or breaking away from a group. Ending up in trouble.

The last few episodes have been all out getting enough food. Yes, there are billions of bullets in the US. They can only access the area they're in which also applies to food and fuel.

How do they collect water? There are no pumping stations to pump it through the pipes we all rely on. It won't get to the settlement unless it's from a river or rain have you seen either?

Also, too many fat people in the settlement they would soon be getting very slim.

Canned food last forever. Nothing else does. So no dairy products, sugar, flour, fresh meat, fruit, vegetables, etc. Look at what's canned in the supermarket next time you go. It could be far better with better writers doing a little bit of thinking.

And yet there you sit Paul, with all these great ideas and observations going to waste. Time to write that Walking Dead screenplay!

I honestly feel this season has been great. Better than last season. As someone else said, you cant just have big fights every episode. They need to build plots and shit

Agreed. Shitting has been sadly lacking from the storyline recently...

My theory is that Maggie is going to become the Alpha. In the comic, the Alpha had a daughter and was against humanity (survivors). She was also bald. If you watched last episode, she cut her hair short and said something like, "I don't want anything getting in my way." when asked why she cut it. Maggie will give birth to a daughter, so that angle is covered. And Negan is going to kill Glenn in the season finale, which will sour her on other survivors.

and where are all of the full auto weapons of every exotic variety coming from? I can see getting an m4 from a dead soldier or armory, but where are the SCARS, HK subs and AK variants coming from? Find them in someone's closet? The majority of weapons would be bolt action hunting rifles, basic 9mm sidearms and shotguns.

Ever been to a gun shop? There's one right next to my office that carries over 100 rifles like you mentioned above. And that's just what they have on display, God only knows what they're holding for customer pickups in the warehouse. They also have a 100 yard indoor range with hundreds of guns you can use if you purchase the ammo. So one gun shop and it easily has 200+ "assault" rifles and hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammo.

Remember, the show is on the East Coast. Not the uber-Liberal area West of the Rockies.

P.S. It is EXTREMELY easy to convert a semi-auto to full auto. So easy even a caveman could do it. The only reason people don't is because it's highly illegal. I could convert a semi-auto AK to fully auto in less than an hour with very limited tools.

It's not easy...and I doubt apocalypse survivors would be worrying about converting them to full auto, especially if they had some level of intelligence. Spraying bullets everywhere is a waste of ammo.

Being retired means you have the time to put all your thoughts and ideas into an actual work of writing. As opposed to wasting all your brilliance on an Internet forum called Go Fuck Yourself.
