50 badly trained webcam models.

Who here would send traffic to a site that had a percentage of crap videos on the tour?

That's what affiliates are doing when they send traffic to some webcam sites. They're dumping traffic on a site and hoping the surfers will click on the girls available, which is often not the best as they're in private. In the hope, that one will find something he likes.

That's not good marketing or selling. It's throwing good traffic at the wall and hoping something will stick.

Often the problems are small and easily fixed. Like the keyboard or camera or screen in the wrong position. Here's a question for cam girls or operators. Does the girl get to see herself on the screen? Some girls love to watch themselves, some don't but they have to have the option of seeing what the customers see. Is the text from surfers easy to read? Often it appears the girls has to concentrate on her surfers and on the text at the same time. Making the text hard to read, is making her job harder.

There are a lot more mistakes that are simple to rectify. Is there a reason sites let down their affiliates?

Any investment in training is likely to be lost just cause the girl will very likely move along shortly, assuming she's got the ability to be trained in the first place.

I still do what I can for each model I work with, but it seems that as soon as they have a good week they take some time off until they are desperate again, always playing catch up instead of developing solid work habits and a sustainable routine.

There are exceptions of course, but most of the exceptions don't need to work in a studio, they are fine on their own.
So don't bother to train and let traffic find the good ones. Do paysites have the same approach on their tours? Yes, the landing page is your tour and should be treated as such.

I do get it that if the girl can earn more elsewhere, she won't stay with you. She will move to a better converting/paying site with a better clientele. That's something you have to fix.

As for girls taking time off. Western Girls have a greed factor built into them by society. Third World girls don't have it so much. This statement is in conflict with the previous about girls moving on.

I agree that girls who can do their own thing are the future of camming. Affiliates will get better conversions, and without the studios taking a slice. The girls earn more. What can you do to stop that trend?

Training girls is simple, some of the mistakes I see are so obvious I wonder if anyone in charge looks at their product in a critical way. We're not talking rocket science here.

Just looked at your site. Why are girls who are not at work, listed at the top of your landing page? Then after browsing non-available girls I'm asked to register. I've no reason to stay on the site.

This just feels like a good place to plug YNOT Cam, which is designed with the independent cam models in mind.

of course lots of models don't take their work seriously, and they're probably missing out on a lot of money as a result. But there are definitely models who are smart, engaged and looking for ways to master their craft.

Are your models cats?

Or are you crap at helping them to improve their earnings and therefore the company you work for, your earnings and affiliates earnings?

Barry is publicly saying here his product is inferior and he has no intentions of improving it.

Independent models are the future. Getting most to take their work seriously can be done very easily. Simple things like a picture with the right pose engaging the surfer is what the webcam video should be like. Engaging.

Girls disappearing off the front page when in private or not at work, watching girls to see who is doing it wrong and sending some advice. The girls doing it wrong aren't just costing those girls money. They cost the sites and affiliate money.

Who buys boring content? The same rule for recorded content applies to webcam content.

Paul hasn't ANY experience running a webcam site or dealing with webcam models (<period!>)

Paul paid porn models a few hundred (really some Czech koruna) to do what he told them to do and made porn images and videos. He was marginally good at that and no longer in business. He has nothing better to do than troll now. Paul spent the last few years trolling porn tubes and lost. He is now trolling webcam sites because he gets some attention. By being obnoxious he thinks he will succeed (at something?)

Paul you don't know shit about the webcam business and have never invested into the webcam business or (documented) paid a model to perform for you on a webcam -- so you don't know fuck-all Paul.

You are the fucking wanna be cat-herder. Hire some cam models and offer paid-training

:2cents Do webcam sites coach, direct and man[a]ge models?

I do agree with Paul's advice about models should be using their voice more to allure surfers.

Obviously, some models are more alluring than others but background music is definitely a distraction for me

That is why broadcasting platforms have a volume control :P

Usually, a cookie is set with a volume value [0-10]. Set one cam and the others will follow your rule.
XloveCam Live Chat Affiliate tool can be set by the affiliate at a volume level of 2, or set at 0 (mute), toward not to scare off the visitors with loud or distorted music playing -- welcome to internet voice chat lolz

The one's with models who speak the language of the target audience will slowly switch to having them talk. Those relying on Second and Third World Studios can't and will die off.

Putting background music in there is stupid. You automatically ask the viewer to like two things instead of one. Volume control is a cop out Barry.

your argument is based on the false presumption that 3rd world girls do not speak english or that a customer will be turned off by a hot cheap girl with subpar english...third world studios are actually going strong, just log in to any webcam site and 90% of the models will be 3rd world...

if I could turn back time 5 years when I opened my first studio I would do the following things differently:

1) recruit as much girls as possible with the least amount of effort involved
2) spend much less of my time coaching the uncoachable
3) spend less of my time doing promotion, and get more ROI just recruiting more models, its about me and my wallet and not them <---took me years to realize this...
4) micro studio - 1 girl 1 apartment - laziness and opinions are contagious...one bad model spoils the rest...also more $$ for me because I take 30% and from the 70% she keeps she has to pay the rent/utilities for her own micro studio...
5) walk out on any interview where a model shows up with a boyfriend...the broke stupid boyfriend will get "ideas" on how he can be a studio boss too and in 10 min online searching he will become an "expert" and sign her up to some shitty white label and they will go broke

Meantime, the sex cam industry is grossing billions of dollars a year and Mr. Markham is living in a low cost Eastern European country on meager pension.

After the recent election in the USA and the Brexit poll victory in the UK -- I feel that English language content is no longer a priority. "Pornageddon" is in the air in the USA and UK anyway. Nice try but your looking to the recent past without a clue of the future.

XloveCam's corporate ownership will continue to take in millions a year -- without Mr. Markham's advise.

As I've told you many sites and models have moved with the time.

I had no idea you were looking at my pension statements.

If you think that the English-speaking market is no longer a priority. You're wrong. Of course, French girls will sell to French-Speaking markets. Which is what your French girls do.

Can we see your Corporate accounts? Or like your remark about my pensions is that just Bullshit?
