You have 90 days to get in the best shape of your life or at least decent shape for summer and a chance to win some cash and prizes for your hard work. How it works: Day #1 (Feb 1st) take a before pic with a newspaper. After you snap a b4 pic, weight yourself and measure your waist. Now the hard part - workout and get your nutrition on point for the next 90 days. All contestants will be added to a private FB group for fitness tips, questions, encouragement and motivation. At the end of 90 days you will take an after photo, weight yourself and measure your waist again. I did that but honestly to get far enough you need a bit more than 90 days. But I have maintained for a long time now and increase all the time.

Being fit comes from consistent lifelong habits, not going scorched earth policy for three months. Sorry to be the party pooper, but don't do this if you want fuck up your metabolism.

you can find a lot of information on what to eat and how to train to get fit for free on the internet, if you don't want to spend $50 in this challenge, do it yourself for free

I'll give you guys a free tip.

If you want to get lean, eat something lean. In a word....cod. Make cod + egg whites the staple of your diet. One pound of cod and one cup of egg whites (with a whole egg thrown in). That's about roughly 550 calories, and over 100 grams of protein. Split it into three meals and eat throughout the day. Fill out the rest of your daily foods with things you like to eat (within reason). Greek yogurt and nuts are good.

Exercise is important, but it's complimentary to your diet -- not the other way around. So don't go wearing yourself out with tons of cardio while you just wing it with the food. After being in total control of how much weight I gain or lose, I've found this one thing...the exercise is half as important as what and how much you eat. It takes a long time and lot of effort to burn 300 calories, but you can eat those 300 calories in 10 seconds.

But don't have the fit mindset for 90 days. Have it for 90 months.

So maybe this is the motivation some people need to develop healthy habits. It has to start from somewhere. I can tell you last year's winner lost over 40lbs and he is in better shape now than when he won.

I do agree with you that being fit is a life long process. However, being fit and having a few extra pounds on are two diff things. I consider myself very fit, but my bodyfat goes up sometimes like it is now and its good to refocus and set a goal to get back to where I want to be.
