Prenda Law copyright factory has finally admitted extracting more than $6million from internet users

Here is how to make money with porn

He now admits that he and co-defendant Paul Hansmeier set up an elaborate 'honeypot' operation by buying up the copyright to porn videos in the name of various shell companies - and then uploading the videos to torrent sites themselves.

When they couldn't find enough copyrights to buy, they even made their own porn videos and uploaded them, he admits.

The pair then persuaded the courts to allow them to subpoena internet service providers and identify the IP addresses from which the porn videos had been downloaded.

Right.

Meanwhile the porn industry as we know it has been decimated by thieving uploaders.

Anyway, downloaders are different and nobody forced them to download.

I suspect a lot of the people who paid out we're also uploaders

After years of denial, John Steele has pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
I met John Steele at the Phoenix Forum in 2012 -- he impressed my as a real dirtball ... My first impressions are usually right ...

He may get 5-10 years on that beef

Seems logical to hire a dirtball to deal with dirtballs

Downloading is actually legal in a lot of countries - it's the uploading that is illegal.

Yeah it was stealing the lifesblood of many passionate creators of unique viewpoints and inched content. Now we've lost 95% of original porn creators and have shitty Kmart porn because people never appreciated who created what they consumed and the livelihood they collectively stole those people.

I've survived but most I know are gone because they weren't technically inclined.

It's legal to kick your dog to death and skin it alive as part of a ritual sacrifice but most don't do it because it's instinctively wrong.

Don't blame piracy for the decline of the porn industry. The decline was 100% due to the love of porn sites giving away free porn to scrape 1-100 sales and thinking that was wonderful.

I'm assuming 1-100 of the people who landed on a free TGP ever bought and that could be more or less. The result of that were millions who bought offline now didn't and some bought online but not as many.

Then selling 100's of videos for $30 was also a problem. Once we got off dial-up downloading a whole site in a month or two was easy and then the customer didn't have to buy for months. There were a few who bought longer memberships, but not enough to replace those who bought before.

Once Tubes sprung up the writing was on the wall. Tube sites were supported by the industry from day one. They couldn't have survived without it.

As for Kmart porn. 99% in this industry couldn't afford Macy's level porn. I should know as no one here would consistently pay $3,000 for a solo girl scene.
