It's definitely been proven that the attacks originated from Assad's men. There's not a real good answer to "why" and the original 2013 attacks occurred while there were UN chemical weapons inspectors were in Syria. I realize ISIS needs to be eradicated, but I don't believe backing Assad is the answer after all the atrocities he's committed.

Assad had to use sarin gas for this stronghold because it is heavier than air, it rolls down stairs and through cracks in doors reaching rebels hunkered underground where they are difficult to take out without extensive Assad casualties. I've heard EVERY one of them start their news stories over the last 24 hours by saying "Why did Assad suddenly decide to use chemical weapons NOW?"

majority of oil for the UK still comes from the North sea & lots is supplied via boat, a pipeline is possible but doubtful.
