You said, "This country is not racist" didn't you? KKK, Jim Crow, etc is not the only definition or manifestation of racism. Crossing the street when you see a person of a different color is just as racist. It's more subtle now, more buried, but given the slightest "reason" and it comes roaring out of people. Not saying YOU are racist just saying racism DOES still exist in America and some would say big time.

BTW: Even during slavery there were many Americans who opposed it and were not racist. No country can be racist or not racist because countries are made up of people. There will always be racists and those who are more tolerant and accepting. The only real issue is what % is which, that's all.

Actually, knowing you are NOT a racist I was trying to help you by pointing out that people who say "This country is not racist" tend to be, you know, the biggest racists.
